Working directly alongside a principal architect, you will transform design concepts into precise development approval and building permit documentation. This role puts you at the core of award-winning architectural work, navigating local council approval processes across multiple active projects. You will continuously refine your technical craft under close, expert mentorship that values quality and precision above all else. Strong Revit proficiency is essential, with presentation skills (Revit, Photoshop or InDesign) and a reasonable understanding of Australian building codes preferred. We require strong Revit proficiency, with experience in Australian Design Review Panel processes or Vietnamese architectural projects serving as a major plus.

Client Overview:

Our client is an award-winning architectural practice based in Perth, Australia, specializing in innovative design and development approval projects. The practice is experiencing growth due to recent award recognition and is expanding capacity to accommodate new residential and commercial projects while maintaining exceptional design quality and client service.

Schedule:

Flexible Days within Business Hours, Flexible Hours (AWST) (20 work hours per week total) - Australian time zone preferred but flexible within business hours

Responsibilities:

• Produce detailed architectural drawings and documentation in Revit based on design sketches and markups provided by the principal architect
• Set up survey plans, site plans, and feature saving plans from survey data to establish project foundations
• Implement design amendments and council feedback following Design Review Panel comments and markup sessions
• Prepare development approval documentation including floor plans, elevations, sections, and site analysis drawings
• Coordinate building permit documentation to Australian building code standards and local council requirements
• Create presentation materials using Revit, Photoshop, or InDesign to support client presentations and council submissions
• Manage drawing revisions efficiently to meet tight turnaround times during the back-and-forth council approval process
• Maintain project file standards and template systems within the Revit environment
• Work across two to three active projects simultaneously, balancing priorities and deadlines
• Collaborate closely with the principal architect during Australian business hours or through asynchronous workflows

Requirements:

• Proficiency in Revit for architectural drafting and documentation
• Understanding of Australian building codes and documentation standards
• Ability to interpret architectural sketches and translate them into detailed technical drawings
• Experience with development approval or building permit documentation
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, high-quality drawings
• Capability to work independently and manage time effectively on multiple projects
• Reliable internet connection and professional home office setup

Qualifications:

• Experience with Design Review Panel processes in Australia is a plus
• Experience working on Vietnamese architectural projects is a plus 
• Skilled in Adobe Photoshop or InDesign for presentation work is a plus
• Experience with residential or commercial project types is a plus
• Experience working with Australian councils or understanding local planning requirements is a plus
