Client Overview
Our client is a dynamic biotech-adjacent company that manufactures specialized cell products for major pharmaceutical companies, including industry leaders like Pfizer and Merck. They operate two distinct product lines serving clients across the biotechnology spectrum, from major pharma to innovative smaller biotech firms, handling both high-volume/low-dollar and low-volume/high-dollar transactions that directly impact life-sciences innovation.

Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM Pacific, with a 30-minute paid break (40 hours per week)
Responsibilities
- Transaction Processing: Process daily accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions across high-volume and high-value product lines.
- Invoicing: Upload customer invoices to various client portals for approximately 50% of the customer base; send invoices via email to remaining customers and manage follow-up processes.
- Cash Management: Recognize and process cash receipts on a daily and weekly basis.
- Vendor Management: Process vendor invoices through the Bill.com platform, including amount verification and approval routing.
- Compliance & Coding: Verify sales tax calculations and departmental coding accuracy to ensure compliance.
- Workflow Oversight: Manage invoice approvals and workflow processes to ensure timely payments.
- Accounting Support: Perform basic entry-level month-end journal entries when capable.
- Professional Communication: Interact with pharmaceutical and biotech customers and vendors with appropriate professional response timing.
Requirements
- Strong experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing in high-volume environments.
- Proficiency with NetSuite ERP system and Bill.com (or similar AP automation platforms).
- Detail-oriented approach with the ability to handle both small-dollar high-volume and large-dollar critical transactions.
- Growth mindset and a genuine desire to advance into accounting responsibilities.
- Experience with invoice portal uploads and email-based invoice processing.
- Ability to work independently as an individual contributor.
Qualifications
- Previous biotech or pharmaceutical industry experience is a bonus.
- Prior experience with month-end journal entries is highly regarded.
