Job Overview

We are seeking a remote Operations Controller (Logistics) to oversee day-to-day delivery terminal operations and drive profit margin growth across multiple locations. In this role, you will analyze financial performance, manage fleet maintenance workflows, monitor budget expenditures, and ensure regulatory compliance. You will work closely with terminal managers to track staffing, audit payroll, and report key daily operational metrics directly to business ownership. This full-time position operates Monday through Saturday from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM EST.

Schedule: Mon-Sat, 6 AM - 2:30 PM EST, plus a 30-minute check on Sunday (48 hrs per week)

Responsibilities

• Run the daily operation: check staffing, truck status, safety inspections and FedEx service results every morning, and send the owners a one-page daily brief by 9:00 AM ET.

• Drive margin: build a weekly profit-and-loss report for each terminal and work with each terminal manager to bring payroll, fuel, repairs and rentals back on budget.

• Manage the fleet: keep every truck's status accurate, push repairs to completion, and approve repair and parts spend within set limits.

• Control spending: match every card, fuel and reimbursement charge to a receipt and an approval; flag anything that doesn't match.

• Keep staffing on target: track hiring and onboarding so each terminal has enough qualified drivers, and audit weekly payroll before it is submitted.

• Enforce compliance: driver files, daily vehicle inspections, dash cameras and insurance claims, with findings followed until they are fixed.

• Manage devices: iPads and scanners assigned, tracked and recovered.

Must-have requirements

• 3+ years in operations management, operations finance or a controller role, ideally in logistics, delivery or field services

• Can build a weekly profit-and-loss report from raw statements and explain every change

• Highly proficient on a computer: fast with Gmail, Google Chat and web-based business software, types quickly, and learns new systems quickly

• Strong in Excel or Google Sheets; comfortable pulling data from web portals and reports

• Has managed or directed people remotely and held managers to deadlines

• Fluent written and spoken English; writes short, clear updates

• Reliable home internet, a computer, and a quiet place to work

• US payroll, fleet maintenance, insurance claims, or experience with FedEx, Amazon or other delivery contractors preferred.
