Job Overview

Our client is looking for a Social Media & Content Specialist to own the entire social media presence for a mission-driven youth arts organization, creating compelling content that resonates with LGBTQ youth and their families. The successful candidate will build brand awareness from scratch, engage directly with the community, and establish a consistent posting rhythm across Facebook and Instagram to attract students and supporters. This role gives you creative freedom to craft authentic, impactful storytelling that connects with a specific audience while competing in a visible, fast-moving space.

Client Overview

Our client is a newly launched youth chorus organization based in Atlanta, Georgia, dedicated to serving LGBTQ youth. As a brand-new non-profit in a specialized and competitive space, they are building their brand presence from the ground up and need to establish strong visibility within their community quickly. This is an opportunity to shape the social media foundation for an organization making a real difference in young lives.

Schedule

  • Monday - Friday, 4 hours per day, Eastern Time (20 work hours per week)

Responsibilities

  • Create and schedule engaging social media content daily across Facebook and Instagram
  • Design graphics and edit short-form video content, including reels, using raw footage provided by the client
  • Engage with the LGBTQ community by reaching out to influencers, joining relevant groups, and actively commenting and moderating
  • Establish and manage social media accounts from scratch, including setting up TikTok and other platforms as needed
  • Monitor trending topics and viral content to keep the organization's presence fresh and relevant
  • Provide detailed monthly reporting on follower growth, engagement rates, click-through rates, and demographic insights
  • Repurpose raw graphics and video footage into polished, caption-ready posts optimized for each platform
  • Develop and execute a content strategy that increases visibility and attracts youth audiences

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a social media marketer or manager with a strong portfolio of past work
  • Demonstrated understanding of or lived experience within the LGBTQ community
  • Proficiency in graphic design and basic video editing for social media content
  • Experience creating short-form video content such as reels and TikTok-style videos
  • Strong knowledge of Facebook and Instagram best practices, algorithms, and engagement tactics
  • Ability to work independently and manage a consistent posting schedule
  • Excellent communication skills and cultural sensitivity when engaging with LGBTQ youth audiences

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in the music or arts industry is a plus
  • Experience managing social media for non-profit organizations is preferred
  • Familiarity with community outreach and influencer engagement strategies
  • Familiarity with TikTok content creation and platform growth tactics
