Job Overview:

Our client is looking for a Data Entry Specialist to play a critical role in populating and maintaining accurate venue data across multiple cities for a location-based mobile application. This position goes beyond simple data entry, requiring strong judgment to evaluate menu images, determine current versus outdated data, and make practical decisions automated systems cannot handle. Your attention to detail will directly impact the user experience for thousands of app users as the platform expands into new markets. You will work with an intuitive in-app scanning system that can take as little as 30 seconds per venue when done efficiently, with the flexibility to suggest process improvements as the workflow evolves.

Client Overview:

Our client is a fast-growing mobile application company operating in the hospitality and location-based services space. Their platform serves users across major cities in Asia and the Middle East, with concentrated operations in Singapore and expansion plans for Hong Kong, Dubai, and other high cost-of-living markets. The company leverages both automated technology and human intelligence to deliver accurate, real-time information to their user base.

Schedule:

Flexible, 20 work hours per week (Singapore Time [SGT] — Manager is in SGT, so some overlap for communication/check-ins is expected)

Responsibilities:

• Search and add new venue listings using the in-app system with automatically populated details like opening hours
• Review Google Maps images for bars and restaurants to identify the most current and accurate menu photographs
• Use judgment to distinguish between outdated menu images from different years and select the correct version
• Scan menu photographs using the in-app scanner tool to capture pricing and product information
• Populate venue data for new cities including Hong Kong and Dubai as the platform expands
• Maintain data accuracy and consistency across hundreds of venue listings
• Adapt to workflow improvements and potentially transition to Excel-based data entry if more efficient
• Provide feedback on the data entry process to help optimize the back-end system

Requirements:

• Proven experience with data entry work with strong attention to detail
• Critical thinking skills and ability to make judgment calls about data accuracy
• Comfortable working with mobile applications on iOS or Android devices
• Ability to evaluate images and determine which information is current and relevant
• Self-directed work style with ability to maintain productivity without constant supervision
• Reliable internet connection for accessing Google Maps and web-based resources

Qualifications:

• Experience working with Excel or spreadsheet-based data management is a plus
• Familiarity with Google Maps and reviewing business listings
• Experience with hospitality or food and beverage industry data is a plus
