Job Overview

Our client is looking for a skilled WordPress Developer to build and develop a multi-component online business marketplace platform comprising a back office, user portal, and public-facing website. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with the business owner to translate design specifications into a functional, subscription-based platform while finding cost-effective solutions to keep development within budget.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 10am - 2pm U.K Time (20hrs per week)

Responsibilities

  • Build and develop a multi-component online business marketplace platform comprising a back office, user portal, and public-facing website
  • Collaborate closely with the business owner to translate the design specification into a functional, subscription-based platform
  • Research and implement free plugins, AI tools, and cost-effective solutions to keep development within budget
  • Provide constructive technical input and recommendations on platform architecture, hosting, and development approach
  • Ensure the platform supports subscription tiers with applicable tools and features for each business level
  • Integrate automated features including AI-powered chatbots for customer service functionality

Requirements

  • Proven experience in WordPress development with an understanding of building complex, multi-layered platforms
  • Ability to work proactively and collaboratively, offering constructive feedback rather than simply following instructions
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work within tight budget constraints
  • High level of attention to detail and commitment to delivering professional-quality work
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks according to a provided schedule
