Operations Manager - Real Estate Australian Market

About the Role

Schedule

  • Monday to Friday - 9am - 6pm AEST

Our client is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Operations Manager to work closely with the Managing Director and play a key role in the day-to-day management and growth of the business.

This is a broad, hands-on leadership position suited to someone who is comfortable operating across people management, business operations, marketing, finance, administration, systems and general business support.

The Operations Manager will partner closely with the Managing Director, helping translate business objectives into action, improve operational efficiency, and ensure the team of approximately 10 people is well managed, accountable and aligned with company goals.

Experience within the Australian real estate market is highly preferred, particularly for candidates who understand the pace, structure and commercial environment of Australian property businesses.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & People Management

    • Work closely with the Managing Director to lead and manage a team of approximately 10 employees.
    • Provide day-to-day leadership, direction, support and accountability across the team.
    • Establish clear responsibilities, priorities, KPIs and performance expectations.
    • Monitor team performance and identify areas for improvement.
    • Support recruitment, onboarding, training and development where required.
    • Help build a positive, accountable and high-performance culture.
    • Act as a key point of escalation for operational and team-related issues.

Business Operations

    • Oversee and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the business.
    • Work with the Managing Director to improve processes, systems and workflows.
    • Identify operational inefficiencies and implement practical solutions.
    • Ensure tasks, projects and business priorities are progressing on time.
    • Develop and maintain operational procedures and documentation.
    • Coordinate between different areas of the business to ensure smooth execution.
    • Take ownership of operational projects and follow them through to completion.

Marketing & Business Growth

    • Partner with the Managing Director on marketing strategy and execution.
    • Coordinate marketing activities across digital channels, campaigns, content and lead generation.
    • Work with internal team members and external suppliers/agencies where required.
    • Monitor marketing performance and help identify opportunities for growth.
    • Ensure marketing initiatives are aligned with broader commercial objectives.
    • Support lead generation, customer acquisition and business development initiatives.

Finance & Commercial Support

    • Work alongside the Managing Director on general financial and commercial matters.
    • Assist with budgeting, expense management, forecasting and financial reporting.
    • Monitor key business metrics and operational performance.
    • Liaise with accountants, bookkeepers and other external financial partners.
    • Help ensure invoices, payments, expenses and financial processes are being managed effectively.
    • Provide the Managing Director with clear operational and commercial information to support decision-making.

General Management Support

    • Act as a trusted operational partner to the Managing Director.
    • Help prioritise business objectives and ensure follow-through.
    • Prepare reports, dashboards and management updates as required.
    • Coordinate meetings, projects and key business initiatives.
    • Take ownership of issues rather than simply identifying them.
    • Provide practical recommendations and solutions to improve the business.
    • Step in across different areas of the business when required.
