Job Overview

A growing US-based freight forwarding operation is seeking a remote Logistics Pricing Coordinator to manage pricing research and vendor negotiations. In this role, you will request and negotiate air and ocean freight rates with carriers, steamship lines, and service providers to secure competitive pricing. You will work closely with the sales team to provide fast, accurate quotes across various routes and shipment types. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented logistics professional skilled in vendor communication and process-driven workflows.

Schedule: Mon-Fri, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM EST with 1 hr unpaid break (40 hrs per week)

Responsibilities

• Research and obtain pricing quotes from airlines and steamship lines for air and ocean freight shipments
• Negotiate rates with freight carriers and service providers to secure competitive pricing
• Respond to internal pricing requests from the sales team for various:
• Origins and destinations
• Shipment types
• Cargo specifications
• Freight requirements
• Identify and establish relationships with new carriers and vendors for routes not currently serviced
• Complete required documentation and account setup forms for new carrier relationships
• Maintain regular communication with existing vendors regarding:
• Rate changes
• Availability
• Service updates
• Route coverage
• Manage and maintain accurate pricing information across established and new shipping routes
• Ensure consistency and accuracy in quoted rates
• Provide quick turnaround on pricing requests to support time-sensitive customer inquiries
• Help the sales team respond efficiently to customer shipping and pricing requests

Must-Have Requirements

• Previous experience in logistics, freight forwarding, supply chain, or a related field
• Proven experience negotiating rates and pricing with vendors or service providers
• Strong communication and vendor relationship management skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and handle repetitive, process-driven tasks consistently
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM Eastern Time
• Reliable internet connection
• Quiet and professional workspace suitable for internal team communication

Nice-to-Have Requirements

• Experience specifically with air freight or ocean freight pricing
• Experience working with international shipping routes
• Familiarity with freight forwarding documentation
• Knowledge of freight industry terminology
• Experience using carrier systems or freight pricing platforms
