Site Planning CAD Specialist

Job Overview

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Site Planning CAD Specialist to support the preparation of planning documentation and technical drawings for development applications. In this role, you will work closely with the Principal Planner to create accurate, professional, and submission-ready site plans, elevations, and supporting documents. This position is ideal for someone with strong drafting experience, a solid understanding of planning requirements, and a high level of accuracy.

Schedule

  • Monday - Friday, Flexible between 09:00 AM - 05:00 PM Adelaide Time (20 work hours per week)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed site plans showing property boundaries, existing structures, and proposed developments.
  • Use GIS imagery and mapping tools to accurately identify properties and overlay proposed designs.
  • Calculate and document boundary setbacks, site coverage, structural dimensions, and other required measurements.
  • Incorporate stormwater connection details into site plans.
  • Produce clear and professional elevation drawings that communicate the proposed design.
  • Ensure all drawings meet relevant planning regulations, scale requirements, and submission standards.
  • Prepare, format, and organize documents for submission to planning authorities.
  • Communicate regularly with the Principal Planner to clarify requirements and keep projects on track.
  • Manage changing workloads while maintaining accuracy, quality, and timely delivery.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in site planning, drafting, architectural documentation, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of property boundaries, planning requirements, development guidelines, and drawing standards.
  • Proficiency in drafting and design software used for site plans and elevations.
  • Experience using GIS imagery, mapping tools, or similar platforms.
  • Excellent attention to detail, particularly with measurements, scaling, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a remote environment.
