Overview

Are you a strategic editor who knows how to stop the scroll and hook an audience in the first three seconds? Our client is looking for a Creative Video Editor & Social Ads Strategist to transform raw footage into scroll-stopping ads and compelling storytelling videos. In this role, you will go beyond technical editing to apply creative strategy, craft narratives with strong hooks, and utilize social media psychology to drive engagement and conversions. Working independently, you will turn raw footage from Google Drive folders into high-performing content that captures attention and converts viewers.

Schedule:

  • Mon-Fri 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM AEST (Australian Eastern Standard Time)

Responsibilities

  • Review and organize raw footage from Google Drive and cut it into polished ads and storytelling videos
  • Develop creative strategy for each video, ensuring strong hooks in the first three seconds
  • Craft narratives with clear beginning, middle, and end structure for founder and business stories
  • Create high-performing social media ads with strategic overlays, captions, and visual elements
  • Understand what content performs well on social platforms and apply that knowledge to every edit
  • Work independently to deliver finished videos without requiring constant direction or revision
  • Adapt editing style between storytelling videos and conversion-focused advertising content
  • Maintain quick turnaround times while preserving quality and strategic thinking

Requirements

  • 3-4 years or more of professional video editing experience
  • Strong understanding of creative strategy for social media advertising
  • Proven ability to create high-performing ads with compelling hooks and engagement tactics
  • Experience crafting storytelling videos with clear narrative structure
  • Proficiency in at least one major editing platform (CapCut, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve)
  • Demonstrated understanding of what makes content perform well on social platforms
  • Ability to work independently and think creatively without constant oversight
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Portfolio demonstrating both storytelling videos and social media ads

Nice-to-Have Requirements

  • Bonus if you have experience working with Australian or American companies
  • It helps if you have a proven track record of creating viral or high-engagement social content
  • Bonus if you understand paid media strategy or can run advertising campaigns
  • It helps if you're comfortable working across multiple editing software platforms
