Job Overview

Our client is seeking a Interior Design Draftsperson (AutoCAD) to provide dedicated CAD documentation support to ease workload during simultaneous project phases when concept design and documentation work overlap. The draftsperson will work autonomously using provided templates, examples, and SketchUp working files to produce interior architecture documentation packages. The position requires someone who can work efficiently and accurately while maintaining close communication with the design team via Teams or email.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM AWST (20 work hours per week)

Responsibilities

• Produce AutoCAD documentation for interior design projects including elevations, sections, and joinery details that communicate designs to builders for pricing and construction.
• Review SketchUp working files and design briefs to understand project requirements and translate concepts into technical documentation.
• Follow established templates and past project examples to maintain consistency and quality standards across all deliverables.
• Communicate proactively with the design team via Teams or email to clarify questions and ensure documentation accuracy.
• Work autonomously to complete documentation tasks efficiently while meeting project timelines and quality expectations.

Requirements

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a CAD draftsperson or technical documentation specialist.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD with demonstrated ability to work quickly and efficiently.
• Proficiency in SketchUp for reviewing and interpreting 3D design files.

Nice to Have

• Previous experience documenting interior design projects including joinery, interior elevations for commercial spaces such as shops, restaurants, bars, or cafes.
• Existing AutoCAD license to minimize software setup requirements.
