Job Overview

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Interior Design CAD Drafter (AutoCAD) with a strong foundation in Interior Design to join their team. In this role, you will bridge the gap between technical execution and design aesthetics. Supporting both the engineering and sales departments, you will translate architectural blueprints and interior design concepts into precise technical shop drawings, spatial layouts, and material estimates for custom architectural metal panels, interior feature walls, and specialized cladding systems. This is an excellent opportunity for a design-minded CAD professional looking for a flexible, part-time schedule within a highly creative and structural field.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, Flexible hours within standard business hours (20-25 work hours per week)

Note: This is a part-time position.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 2D layouts and 3D interior/exterior architectural shop drawings, elevation views, and installation details for premium metal wall panels and ceiling systems using AutoCAD.
• Ensure technical drawings accurately reflect the design intent, material finishes, and spatial aesthetics required by interior designers and architects.
• Review interior and architectural plans to take off measurements and calculate exact material quantities for custom panels, trim, and structural accessories.
• Curate, update, and maintain the company’s standard architectural CAD detail library used for client presentations and architectural pitches.
• Work closely with technical, design, and sales teams to clarify project requirements, ensuring all drawings meet both structural company standards and high design expectations.

Requirements

• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD is required.
• 1–3 years of dedicated CAD drafting experience, with a proven track record or background in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or high-end architectural millwork/cladding.
• Strong ability to read, interpret, and cross-reference complex architectural blueprints, interior elevation schedules, and construction documents.
• High attention to design detail, strong spatial awareness, and solid mathematical skills for estimations.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, part-time capacity.

Nice To Have

• Experience with 3D modeling, SketchUp, or Revit to help visualize interior spaces.
