Our client is seeking a highly technical, solutions-driven E-Commerce Systems Integration Specialist to spearhead automation and architecture initiatives across a fast-paced retail operation. This role is designed for a systems expert with extensive, hands-on experience connecting Shopify, Zoho, and Xero with third-party logistics (3PL) infrastructure. Your primary mission is to engineer, monitor, and optimize a highly automated, hands-off "autopilot" fulfillment ecosystem. By eliminating repetitive manual data transfers, minimizing processing exceptions, and ensuring flawless real-time financial data synchronization, you will safeguard operating margins and scale capacity. If you bridge the gap between strategic workflow design and deep API/middleware execution, this technical leadership role offers a high-impact opportunity.

Schedule

• Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM NZT (New Zealand Time) (40 hours per week).

Responsibilities

• System Integration & Architecture: Design, map, and deploy robust end-to-end automations connecting the front-end Shopify footprint with Zoho Inventory and Xero.
• Fulfillment Pipeline Automation: Architect automated data pipelines, custom CSV exports, digital packing slips, and warehouse documentation tailored for seamless 3PL processing.
• Bi-Directional Logistics Tracking: Integrate shipping manifests, carrier API responses (e.g., NZ Post), and transit milestones back into Shopify and Zoho to provide immediate client transparency.
• Financial Data Synchronization: Map live ledger flows, transactional metadata, and tax mappings between Zoho Inventory and Xero to eliminate month-end reconciliation gaps.
• Fulfillment Operations Support: Monitor active automation queues daily, step in to troubleshoot multi-platform API payload errors, and proactively resolve complex routing exceptions.
• Vendor & Developer Management: Serve as the primary technical point of contact, liaising with external developers, specialized SaaS vendors, and agency partners to keep engineering sprints on schedule.
• Data Migration & Tech Hygiene: Direct legacy system data cleanups, master SKU mapping alignments, software migrations, and firm process standardization across the organization.

Requirements

• Zoho Ecosystem Expertise: Advanced, hands-on experience configuring and administering Zoho Inventory, Zoho Desk, and Zoho Analytics.
• Shopify Management: Comprehensive knowledge of the Shopify app ecosystem, checkout API payloads, webhooks, and plugin constraints.
• Financial Accounting Fundamentals: Solid structural understanding of ledger entry mapping, inventory costing adjustments, and automated accounting workflows within Xero.
• Logistics & 3PL Integration: Direct experience configuring connections with third-party logistics warehouses and shipping carrier APIs (such as NZ Post or similar regional networks).
• Technical Troubleshooting: Proven ability to diagnose data sync failures, API rate limit issues, and synchronization bottlenecks within multi-layered software stacks.
• Communication & Control: Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills, equipped to manage both executive stakeholders and external programming teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience writing custom scripts for API endpoints or building workflows inside middleware automation tools (e.g., Make, Zapier, Zoho Flow).
• Functional familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and enterprise fulfillment center mechanics.
• Background in systems architecture, technical product management, or operational technology consulting.
