Senior Social Media Specialist & Video Editor
Job Overview
Our client is an innovative events company with over six years of experience specializing in silent disco entertainment. As they expand their ticketed events and work-for-hire services, they are seeking a Senior Social Media Specialist to revitalize their digital presence. This role is primarily focused on high-impact video marketing—repurposing existing assets into engaging, short-form content for Instagram and Facebook to drive ticket sales. The ideal candidate is a trends expert who can blend creative video editing with strategic content management to grow a community of event-goers.

Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM PST (20 hours per week)
Responsibilities
- Video Marketing: Repurpose and edit existing video assets into high-energy, 15-30 second social media videos optimized for Instagram Reels and Facebook.
- Content Strategy: Create and manage a comprehensive content calendar, incorporating approval workflows and regular posting schedules.
- Trend Integration: Stay ahead of social media trends by selecting viral music and implementing current platform best practices to maximize reach.
- Email Marketing: Support digital outreach via MailChimp, managing a database of approximately 7,000 contacts for event announcements.
- Design & B2B Support: Assist with Canva-based updates for sponsor pitch decks and marketing materials; support the development of a LinkedIn presence for B2B outreach.
- Growth Initiatives: Explore and implement cost-effective text marketing strategies and leverage HubSpot (Free) for basic lead tracking.
- Platform Management: Post and schedule content primarily across Instagram, ensuring brand consistency and high engagement.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in social media management and professional video editing.
- Instagram Expertise: Expert-level proficiency in Instagram marketing, including Reels, Stories, and community engagement strategies.
- Video Portfolio: A strong portfolio demonstrating your ability to produce fast-paced, engaging video content for the entertainment or events sector.
- Technical Skills: Strong video editing capabilities with a focus on quick turnaround for testing and optimization.
- Trend Awareness: Excellent understanding of current social media trends, popular music, and evolving platform algorithms.
- Communication: Exceptional written communication skills for drafting captions, email newsletters, and marketing copy.
Qualifications
- Experience with AI tools for video creation and content development is a significant plus.
- Background in marketing for events, entertainment, or music-related businesses.
- Proficiency in Canva, MailChimp, and familiarity with Eventbrite or similar ticketing platforms.
- Knowledge of text marketing (SMS) platforms and strategies.
