Sales Assistant (Merchant Services)

Job Overview

Our client is a Michigan-based leader in the merchant services industry, specializing in credit card processing, point-of-sale (POS) solutions, and payment processing systems. As they expand their territory, they are seeking a versatile Sales Assistant to drive both operational efficiency and business growth. This "mixed-role" position is split equally between high-impact business development and critical administrative support. You will spend 50% of your time conducting outbound cold calls to secure meetings and the other 50% managing the HubSpot database, coordinating schedules, and preparing essential briefings for the sales team.

Schedule

  • Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM ET, with 1 hour unpaid break (40 hours per week)

Responsibilities

  • Business Development: Conduct consistent cold calling outreach to prospective businesses within an assigned territory to schedule high-quality client meetings.
  • CRM Management: Own the HubSpot database; track contact history, manage follow-up requirements, and ensure data integrity.
  • Meeting Coordination: Manage complex calendars to schedule client appointments and provide seamless logistical support.
  • Briefing & Preparation: Prepare comprehensive weekly briefings and presentation materials to support the team during upcoming client engagements.
  • Administrative Support: Execute general administrative tasks, including email management and operational workflows, to streamline territory activities.
  • Territory Oversight: Monitor prospect activity within specific regions to identify new opportunities for merchant service expansion.

Requirements

  • Outbound Experience: Proven experience in cold calling and phone-based business development (lead generation).
  • Technical Mastery: Strong proficiency with CRM systems, specifically HubSpot.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with clear, professional articulation.
  • Self-Management: Highly organized with the ability to balance administrative duties and sales targets simultaneously.
  • Availability: Ability to work full-time hours strictly aligned with Eastern Time (ET).

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in Merchant Services, Payment Processing, or B2B sales is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook and G Suite applications.
  • Experience with cloud-based phone systems such as Google Voice, RingCentral, or JustCall.
  • A resilient, proactive mindset geared toward achieving weekly meeting targets.
