Tax Manager – International Experience

Role Overview:
We are seeking a Tax Manager with deep international tax expertise to lead and review complex cross-border tax matters while overseeing U.S. compliance and planning for individuals, corporations, and high-net-worth families. International tax is the primary competency for this role. 

Schedule:

  • 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, includes a 1-hour unpaid break
  • Client time zone: US Eastern Time (Fort Mill, SC)

Core Responsibilities:

International Tax (Primary Focus – 40–50%)
• Lead and review international tax compliance and planning
• Prepare and review Forms 5471, 5472, 8865, 8938, 1116, 1120-F, 926, 3520/3520-A
• Handle GILTI, Subpart F, FDII, foreign tax credits, and withholding
• Advise expatriates, inbound/outbound taxpayers, and multinational businesses
• Conduct treaty analysis and cross-border structuring
• Identify risks and planning opportunities

U.S. Tax Compliance & Planning (Secondary Focus – 50–60%)
• Review individual (1040), corporate (1120/1120-S), and partnership (1065) returns
• Review gift and estate filings (Forms 709, 706)
• Support entity structuring, compensation, and succession planning
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with tax regulations

Leadership & Client Management

• Mentor staff and senior accountants
• Manage multiple engagements and deadlines
• Communicate complex tax issues clearly
• Collaborate with partners and external advisors

 

Qualifications:
Required:
• 7+ years of tax experience with strong international tax focus
• Hands-on experience with U.S. international compliance and planning
• Strong technical knowledge of U.S. individual, corporate, and estate taxation
• CPA, EA, or JD preferred

Preferred:
• Expatriate or global mobility experience
• Experience with private companies or family offices
• Familiarity with ProConnect, UltraTax, or CCH Axcess
