EDI & API Analyst
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly capable EDI Analyst & Operations Administrator to support both technical integration requirements and day-to-day operational execution. This hybrid role ensures seamless data flow, system integrity, and operational efficiency across customers, vendors, and third-party logistics (3PL) partners.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise in EDI/API integrations with hands-on operational and administrative support within an ERP system such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of IT, operations, and supply chain management.
Key Responsibilities
Integration Development & Management

Design, develop, and implement new EDI and API integrations between the ERP system and external trading partners (customers, vendors, and 3PLs).

Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to define data mapping, transmission formats, and communication protocols.

Ensure all integrations meet business, partner, and compliance requirements for accuracy, timeliness, and reliability.
Maintenance, Troubleshooting & Communication

Monitor and support existing EDI and API connections to ensure continuous, error-free data exchange.

Investigate and resolve transmission failures, data discrepancies, and workflow interruptions.

Communicate EDI-related issues clearly with internal stakeholders and external partners.

Perform routine system checks, updates, and maintain documentation of integration processes and workflows.
Reporting & Data Integrity

Validate ERP system data to ensure reporting accuracy.

Identify, analyze, and correct data inconsistencies across systems.
Operations Coordination & Administration

Monitor carrier and freight forwarder performance, track SLAs, and maintain service-level metrics for reporting.

File, track, and follow up on freight claims with freight forwarders.

Maintain and update master and transactional data in the ERP system, including items, customers, vendors, shipments, workflows, and related operational records.
Continuous Improvement

Identify opportunities to streamline processes, increase automation, and reduce manual effort across operations and IT.

Participate in system enhancements, upgrades, testing, and documentation initiatives.

Stay current on EDI/API technologies, ERP best practices, and industry trends to recommend and implement operational improvements.
Requirements

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (or NAV).

Minimum 3 years of experience in EDI and/or API integration development and support.

Experience in operations administration, logistics, or supply chain support preferred.

Hands-on experience with common EDI transaction sets (e.g., 850, 856, 810).

Familiarity with API protocols (REST, JSON, XML, SOAP) and EDI/middleware platforms such as CommerceHub, TrueCommerce, SPS Commerce, or similar solutions.
Technical Skills

Solid understanding of data mapping, transformation, and validation logic.

Experience with WMS-to-ERP reconciliation and inventory accuracy processes.
