Reporting Specialist
Schedule - Monday - Friday 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM UK Time with 1-hour unpaid break
About the Role
We are looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented Reporting Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and delivering accurate and insightful reports that support data-driven decision-making across the business. The ideal candidate is exceptionally skilled in Microsoft Excel, comfortable managing large datasets, and able to transform raw information into understandable and actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities
Data Management & Reporting
- Create, update, and automate recurring reports and dashboards.
- Collect, clean, and organize data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain reporting templates and improve them for efficiency and clarity.
- Conduct analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and performance indicators.
Excel Expertise
- Build advanced spreadsheets, including complex formulas, pivot tables, Power Query, and data validation.
- Develop automated reporting tools using macros or VBA (preferred).
- Troubleshoot spreadsheet issues and improve existing structures for performance and reliability.
Business Insights
- Support management with ad-hoc reporting requests and data analysis.
- Present data in a clear, meaningful way for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Provide recommendations based on data findings to help optimize business processes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with teams such as Finance, Sales, Operations, Inventory, and Management to understand reporting needs.
- Ensure data used in reports aligns with company standards and definitions.
- Maintain a high level of communication and transparency about reporting timelines and changes.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (expert level) including:
- Pivot tables
- VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
- INDEX/MATCH
- IF/IFS statements
- SUMIFS/COUNTIFS
- Conditional formatting
- Data models
- Power Query & Power Pivot (preferred)
- Macros/VBA (highly valued)
- Ability to work with large, complex datasets with high accuracy.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data integrity.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
- Clear communication and presentation skills.
- Experience with reporting or BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker) is a plus.
- Prior experience in reporting, data analysis, or similar roles preferred.
