Job Description:
You’ll be the vital bridge between our client and their 200+ loyal customers, ensuring consistent communication that drives retention and prevents churn to competitors. This role combines the best of customer service and account management, where your relationship-building skills directly impact business growth. You’ll work with small business owners who value personal connections over pushy sales tactics, making this perfect for someone who enjoys nurturing long-term business relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Contact existing customers weekly or fortnightly to maintain regular communication and strengthen relationships
- Follow up persistently with busy small business owners who may be difficult to reach initially
- Present current stock availability using weekly updated inventory lists and direct customers to online ordering
- Facilitate order placement through multiple channels including website, phone, and text orders
- Build and maintain genuine rapport with family-run pet stores and independent business owners
- Provide knowledgeable customer support and answer questions about product availability
- Help customers navigate between online ordering systems and direct communication methods
- Ensure consistent order frequency to prevent customers from switching to competing suppliers
Requirements:
- Strong customer service and communication skills with a relationship-focused approach
- Experience in account management, customer support, or similar client-facing roles
- Patience and persistence for following up with busy small business owners
- Comfortable working early morning hours to align with Eastern Australian business hours
- Reliable internet connection and ability to work effectively in a remote environment
- Bonus if you have experience with wholesale or B2B customer relationships
- It helps if you’re familiar with inventory management systems or stock tracking
