Job Description:

You will serve as the critical communication bridge between the US-based technical team and Chinese manufacturing partners, enabling seamless project coordination and technical information exchange. This role puts you at the center of innovative glass technology projects, where your bilingual expertise will directly impact product development, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency. You'll transition from part-time to full-time quickly as project volume grows, gaining ownership over increasingly complex technical coordination.

Our client is a US-based company specializing in vacuum insulated glass technology, serving both the equipment manufacturing and building retrofit markets. They work directly with Chinese manufacturers to deliver cutting-edge energy-efficient glass solutions to building owners and glass fabricators across North America. The company is experiencing rapid growth as demand for sustainable building materials accelerates.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 12:00 pm (US Eastern Time, 20 hours per week, transitioning to full time)
  

Responsibilities:

• Provide real-time interpretation during Zoom calls and meetings between US technical managers and Chinese manufacturing partners
• Translate technical specifications, equipment designs, and factory layout documentation between English and Chinese
• Coordinate project-specific details including glass configurations, dimensions, specifications, and delivery timelines
• Request and process quotations from Chinese vendors, ensuring accurate translation of technical requirements
• Manage communication flow for custom glass projects from specification through production and shipping
• Facilitate technical discussions about equipment-related issues, designs, and manufacturing processes
• Maintain clear documentation of project requirements and vendor communications
• Support the technical manager with detailed information exchange about vacuum insulated glass products

Must-Have Requirements:

• Fluent in both English and Chinese with ability to provide real-time interpretation
• Strong written translation skills for technical documents and specifications
• Excellent verbal communication skills with ability to convey technical concepts accurately
• Comfortable using email and video conferencing platforms for daily communication
• Reliable internet connection and professional home office setup
• Availability during Eastern Time morning hours (7:00 AM - 11:00 AM ET)

Nice-to-Have Requirements:

• Experience in construction or manufacturing is a plus.
• A technical background or familiarity with industrial equipment is beneficial.
• Prior knowledge of the glass industry or glass fabrication processes is an advantage.
• Project coordination or project management experience is helpful.
