Job Overview

Our client is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented AutoCAD Drafting Specialist to provide remote support in preparing residential roof ventilation plans. The successful candidate will use information provided by the client to prepare accurate technical plans identifying appropriate attic ventilation requirements and vent placement. Training will be provided on the client's processes, products, and ventilation guidelines. This position is well suited for AutoCAD users, students, recent graduates, drafting professionals, or individuals seeking flexible supplemental work that can be completed around school, another job, or other commitments.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, Flexible during client business hours, Pacific Time (40 work hours per week)

Responsibilities

• Prepare residential roof ventilation plans using AutoCAD based on provided specifications and construction information.
• Review residential construction plans and drawings to determine relevant roof and attic details.
• Identify appropriate attic ventilation requirements based on provided guidelines and project information.
• Accurately indicate recommended vent locations and ventilation components on plans.
• Apply established drafting standards, processes, and ventilation guidelines consistently.
• Review completed drawings for accuracy, completeness, and potential drafting errors.
• Incorporate revisions and updates based on project requirements or feedback.
• Maintain organized digital files and project documentation.
• Meet agreed-upon project deadlines and turnaround times.
• Communicate clearly regarding project requirements, questions, or issues.
• Work independently while following established procedures and technical guidelines.
• Participate in training related to products, processes, and roof ventilation requirements.

Requirements

• Previous experience using AutoCAD.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to read and interpret residential construction plans and technical drawings.
• Good understanding of drafting fundamentals.
• Ability to follow technical instructions and established processes.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Reliable computer and internet connection.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to consistently meet agreed-upon turnaround times.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Preferred: Educational background or experience in Architecture, Drafting, Construction, Civil or Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Technology, Building Science, or related technical fields.
