Social Media Specialist (Community Engagement & Admin)

Job Overview

Our client is a growing personal development and wellbeing business seeking a Social Media Specialist (Community Engagement & Admin) to manage social media content while providing customer service and administrative support. This hands-on role is ideal for someone creative, organized, proactive, and comfortable working independently, with the opportunity for additional hours as the business grows.

Schedule

  • Monday - Friday, 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM AEST (20 work hours per week)

Responsibilities

Social Media Management

  • Manage the content calendar and schedule/publish content across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, and other relevant platforms.
  • Repurpose long-form videos, podcasts, written materials, and existing content into engaging short-form posts, including basic video edits, captions, subtitles, and branding.
  • Write captions and create simple graphics, carousels, stories, and posts using Canva or similar tools while maintaining the brand voice.
  • Organize content assets, drafts, photos, videos, and published materials for easy access.
  • Monitor comments, DMs, trends, and audience engagement, identifying relevant content opportunities.
  • Track basic performance, prepare simple reports, and recommend ways to improve reach, engagement, and audience growth.

Customer Service & Community Engagement

  • Respond to customer and community enquiries through email, social media, and website channels with timely, professional support.
  • Assist with enquiries about programs, courses, events, workshops, and other offerings.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer conversations and follow-up actions.
  • Escalate complex, sensitive, or confidential matters when appropriate.
  • Identify recurring customer questions and feedback that can improve content or services.
  • Help maintain a welcoming, respectful, and positive online community.

General Administrative Support

  • Monitor inboxes, flag important messages, and assist with calendar coordination, appointments, and reminders.
  • Format documents, presentations, newsletters, and online resources.
  • Maintain contact lists, customer records, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Upload content to websites, email marketing platforms, and course platforms, and conduct basic online research.
  • Assist with launches, workshops, events, campaigns, and new projects while following up on assigned tasks.
  • Create and maintain simple systems, checklists, and organizational processes and provide general administrative support as required.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in social media management, virtual assistance, customer service, or a similar role.
  • Demonstrated ability to create, manage, and repurpose social media content; applications with portfolios will be prioritized.
  • Strong written English with excellent grammar, spelling, attention to detail, and professional communication skills.
  • Basic short-form video editing skills and experience using Canva or similar design tools.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Reliable in meeting deadlines, completing follow-ups, and managing recurring tasks.
  • Comfortable maintaining a specific brand voice and handling confidential information professionally and respectfully.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with any of the following would be an advantage: Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, Meta Business Suite, Canva, CapCut or similar video-editing tools, Email marketing platforms, CRM or customer management systems, Google Workspace, Website or course-platform administration, Social media analytics and reporting, Podcast or YouTube content support, ChatGPT or other responsible AI tools.
  • Experience working with wellness, personal development, coaching, education, lifestyle, or purpose-driven brands is highly desirable.
