Job Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced, HIPAA-certified Dental Billing & Insurance Coordinator with hands-on proficiency in Dentrix software. In this dual-function role, you will handle daily dental claims submissions, post ledger payments, verify patient insurance benefits online, and answer incoming patient calls to manage appointment scheduling.

This position is ideal for a detail-driven dental administrator who excels in back-office billing workflows, revenue cycle follow-up, and patient communication within a secure, remote environment.

Client Overview

Our client is a premier, patient-focused boutique dental practice operating in California. To streamline their front-office operations and ensure a seamless revenue cycle, they are adding a dedicated remote Dental Billing & Administrative Specialist to manage claims processing, insurance verifications, patient scheduling, and billing support.

Schedule

  • Monday - Thursday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM PST (40 work hours per week)

Responsibilities

Dental Billing & Revenue Cycle Operations

  • Prepare, audit, and submit electronic dental insurance claims using Dentrix software.
  • Post insurance payments, process client co-pays, and scan financial records directly into patient ledgers.
  • Execute regular insurance claim follow-ups, resolve unpaid or denied claims, and manage carrier email correspondence.
  • Update patient documentation, review charts for accurate billing codes, and prepare treatment plans and route slips.

Patient Administration & Front-Office Support

  • Answer incoming practice calls, handle patient inquiries, and schedule appointments within Dentrix.
  • Perform online insurance eligibility checks and verify patient benefits prior to scheduled appointments.
  • Handle sensitive patient health data strictly within HIPAA compliance and secure Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) standards.

Requirements

  • Dentrix Software Proficiency: Mandatory, direct experience navigating Dentrix for claim submissions, posting payments, and scheduling.
  • Dental Billing & Admin Background: Proven experience in dental office administration, insurance verification, treatment plan preparation, and claims resolution.
  • HIPAA Certification: Deep knowledge of US healthcare privacy laws, patient confidentiality, and secure data handling procedures.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written English communication for handling patient calls and insurance correspondence.
