Social Media Marketing Specialist
Role: Social Media Marketing Specialist
Location: Remote
Work Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday (aligned with UK business hours)

About the Role
We are looking for a mature, experienced and dependable Social Media Marketing Specialist to take ownership of a broad range of digital marketing activities.
This is a hands-on role covering digital marketing, social media management, content creation, graphic design, video editing, audience engagement and basic lead generation.
We are looking for someone who can work independently, use good judgement and manage their responsibilities with minimal supervision. This is not an entry-level role — the successful candidate should be able to step into the team, understand what needs to be done and take ownership from planning through to execution.
Key Responsibilities
Digital Marketing & Social Media
- Manage social media channels including LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok and Pinterest.
- Plan, create, schedule and publish consistent social media content.
- Develop content strategies that increase brand awareness, engagement and audience growth.
- Stay up to date with social media trends and adapt content accordingly.
- Monitor audience engagement and respond to relevant comments and interactions.
- Support lead generation, outreach and audience engagement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve social media performance and reach.
Content Creation & Copywriting
- Create engaging social media posts, captions, short-form videos and marketing content.
- Write scripts for short-form videos, campaigns and digital advertisements.
- Adapt messaging for different audiences while maintaining a consistent brand voice.
- Repurpose existing content across multiple platforms.
- Support email marketing and lead-nurturing campaigns where required.
Graphic Design
- Create professional social media graphics, promotional materials, banners, thumbnails and advertisements.
- Use Canva or similar design tools to produce high-quality marketing assets.
- Maintain consistent branding across all content.
- Produce creative assets efficiently while balancing quality and turnaround time.
Video Editing
- Edit short-form videos for platforms such as TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts and Facebook.
- Edit talking-head videos, promotional content, voiceovers and social media videos.
- Use CapCut Pro or similar video editing software.
- Handle cutting, captions/subtitles, audio, transitions, branding and basic visual enhancements.
- Create and optimise video thumbnails and content for engagement.
Email & Marketing Support
- Support email marketing campaigns using Klaviyo or similar platforms.
- Assist with building and managing email lists and lead-nurturing campaigns.
- Support basic digital advertising activity, including Meta/Facebook Ads.

- Strong experience with CapCut Pro or similar video editing software.
- Excellent written and verbal English.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms and current content trends.
- Ability to manage multiple marketing activities independently.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to take ownership and work with minimal supervision.
- Professional, dependable and accountable approach to work.
- Strong creative and problem-solving skills.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with Klaviyo or another email marketing platform.
- Experience with Meta/Facebook Ads.
- CRM experience.
- Lead generation, outreach or appointment-setting experience.
- Basic understanding of marketing analytics and reporting.
- Experience with Pinterest marketing.
- Experience with AI-powered marketing and content creation tools.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is professionally mature, proactive and hands-on.
You should be someone who doesn't need to be given a task list every morning. You can look at the marketing priorities, understand what needs to happen and take ownership of getting it done.
You will be comfortable wearing multiple hats and moving between content planning, graphic design, video editing, social media management, publishing, engagement and lead generation.
We are looking for someone who:
- Takes initiative rather than waiting for instructions.
- Can manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Communicates clearly and professionally.
- Uses good judgement and knows when to ask for support.
- Takes accountability for the quality of their work.
- Is comfortable working independently.
- Is creative but also commercially minded.
- Understands that successful marketing requires both consistent execution and measurable results.
Full Content Cycle Ownership
The successful candidate should ideally be capable of managing the full content cycle, including:
Plan → Create → Design → Edit → Publish → Engage → Analyse → Improve
You should be able to take an idea or brief and turn it into a completed marketing campaign with minimal supervision.
What Success Looks Like
Success in this role means having a reliable marketing professional who can independently manage day-to-day digital marketing activity, consistently produce high-quality content, maintain an active social presence and identify opportunities to increase engagement and generate leads.
The successful candidate will become a trusted member of the team who takes ownership, gets things done and requires minimal day-to-day management.
