Why this role exists

Organic social is the one channel where nothing can be recycled. A client's grid is permanent and public - last quarter's concept sitting three squares down is visible to every new visitor, so ideas have to be genuinely new every month rather than reworked from an archive.

That makes ideation, not execution, the constraint. This role exists to keep a portfolio of client grids current, credible and worth following - generating fresh concepts monthly, running the community that forms around them, and feeding real creator content into the mix.

The job is to keep each client's grid current rather than repetitive. Everything else supports that.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Content planning and creative concepting

Generate new content ideas every month for your assigned clients - typically 8–12 post concepts per client.

Write captions and creative briefs in each brand's tone of voice, built around its agreed content pillars.

Pull together creative assets and UGC for use across organic posts.

Track trends across platforms and translate them into concepts that actually fit the brand - adaptation, not imitation.

Refresh and reframe existing high-performing themes where a full new concept isn't the right answer.

Community management

Own day-to-day community engagement across your accounts: comments, DMs and brand mentions.

Respond in each client's tone of voice, within the agreed response times and escalation process. Monitor priority accounts daily, and flag anything sensitive, reputational or complaint-related immediately rather than answering it alone.

Creator and influencer programmes

You will run nano and micro creator programmes end to end: researching and shortlisting creators who genuinely fit the brand, logging and managing them in our creator management platform, securing internal and client sign-off, handling outreach, issuing contracts from approved templates, and collecting the finished content.

Coordinate delivery and sign-off between creators, the client and the internal team. Ensure every piece of paid or gifted creator content carries correct ASA/CAP disclosure before it goes live. Non-negotiable.

Scheduling and calendar control

Schedule and publish content across client accounts in Sprout Social.

Keep content calendars accurate and current, and confirm sign-off is in place before anything publishes. Nothing goes live unapproved.

Analysis and reporting

Track engagement rate alongside reach, impressions, saves, shares and clicks to understand what is actually working.

Contribute to weekly and monthly client reporting.

Feed performance insight back into next month's planning - with a view on why something worked, not just that it did.

AI as part of the job, not a bonus

AI tooling is embedded in how the business works. You will use it daily - pressure-testing and expanding concept lists, drafting caption variants in brand voice, summarising comment sentiment at volume, speeding up creator research and reporting write-ups. We care less about which tools you've used than how resourceful you are with them.

WAYS OF WORKING

This is a team seat, not a solo one. Client allocation, monthly volume and cover are managed by the organic lead across the team, so nobody carries a portfolio alone and nobody is the single point of failure on an account.

FLAG CAPACITY EARLY, DON'T ABSORB IT QUIETLY

Ideation quality is the first thing to slip when someone is overloaded, and it slips silently - the grid starts repeating itself and the client notices before we do.

We expect people to say when the volume isn't working, not to quietly ship weaker concepts. That is treated as good judgement here, not as a problem.

Concepting and community management pull in opposite directions. Concepting needs uninterrupted blocks; community needs frequent checks. The role is structured around protected planning time with defined community monitoring windows, rather than reactive all-day monitoring.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We would rather hire someone with genuine creative instinct and organisational discipline than someone who has used every tool but has no ideas.

Essential

Hands-on experience managing organic social accounts. Agency experience is a bonus, not a requirement.

Demonstrable ability to generate original content ideas at volume - with examples you can talk through, including what you'd do differently now.

Strong writing, and confidence switching tone of voice across different brands convincingly. Good working knowledge of Meta platforms (Instagram and Facebook), including how content is actually consumed on each.

Comfortable juggling multiple clients and staying organised to deadline without being chased. Sound judgement in public-facing conversation - knowing when to reply, when to de-escalate, and when to escalate rather than improvise.

Proactive, detail-oriented and comfortable in a small, fast-moving pod. Remote-first means visible work and proactive updates.

Comfort using AI tools daily, and real appetite to get better at using them.

Nice to have

Sprout Social, or a comparable scheduling and listening tool.

Experience with a creator or influencer management platform.

UGC, creator or influencer programme experience.

TikTok-native content experience.

Basic asset editing in Canva or Figma.

Experience across multiple ecommerce brands or sectors at once.

SCOPE BOUNDARIES

WHAT THIS ROLE IS NOT

This role does not own organic strategy, content pillars, channel performance targets or the client relationship - the organic lead does. It has no paid social budget authority and no unilateral publishing rights: sign-off is always required.

It also does not handle complaints, crisis or reputational issues alone. Those escalate immediately, every time.

What it does own: the monthly idea flow, the health of the community, and the accuracy and timeliness of everything that publishes.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

MILESTONE

TIMEFRAME

WHAT WE EXPECT TO SEE

Embedded

First 30 days

Knows the tone of voice, content pillars and escalation rules for each assigned client. Handling community independently within response times. Scheduling accurately in Sprout.

Reliable

Days 30–60

Delivering the full monthly concept volume on time, with briefs and captions needing light editing only. Running creator outreach end to end with sign-off in place.

Trusted

Days 60–90

Owning the monthly content plan for their accounts with the lead reviewing rather than rebuilding it. Reporting contributions include an actual point of view on performance.

Adding value

Beyond 90

days

Spotting trends before they saturate, proposing tests, and improving how the pod plans and produces organic - not just absorbing more accounts.

WHERE THIS ROLE GOES

We are hiring someone who wants to own organic social for a client portfolio, not stay in scheduling. The intended path:

1. Social Media Assistant (Organic) - concepting, community and creator delivery under supervision. 2. Organic Social Executive - owns the content plan and client relationship for their accounts, contributes to strategy, may support paid amplification.

3. Organic Social Manager / Strategist - owns strategy, pillars, creator programmes and performance across a portfolio, and develops junior team members.

Pace is driven by capability, not tenure. We would rather promote quickly and hire beneath someone than let a strong performer stall.

SELECTION PROCESS

STAGE

WHAT HAPPENS

1. Application

CV plus links to accounts or campaigns they have personally worked on, with a note on what was theirs.

2. Screening call

Recruitment partner or the client. Motivation, experience, salary alignment, notice period.

3. Practical task

Three parts for a supplied ecommerce brand: (a) six post concepts with captions against given content pillars, (b) the same caption rewritten in a second brand's tone of voice, (c) three community responses including one negative comment and one that should be escalated.

4. Task review interview

Candidate walks through their thinking with the organic lead. We are testing creative instinct, judgement and coachability - not polish.

5. Final conversation

Culture, ways of working, and expectations both ways.

Note for our recruitment partner: the differentiator is idea generation and judgement, not tool familiarity. A candidate with genuinely original concepts and no Sprout experience is a stronger submission than a fluent scheduler with a derivative content history - we can teach the tools far faster than we can teach taste.
