Job Overview

Our client is looking for a creative, organised, and commercially minded Social Media Content Specialist to strengthen their digital presence, build local brand awareness, and turn completed electrical projects, expertise, and customer experiences into content that generates engagement and enquiries. In this part-time remote role, you will be responsible for planning the content pipeline, creating and publishing content, supporting email marketing, monitoring performance, and continuously improving the company's digital content strategy to support business objectives such as brand awareness, website traffic, customer engagement, and lead generation.

Monday - Friday, Flexible hours, Queensland (20 work hours per week)

Responsibilities

  • Content & Marketing Planning: Develop and maintain a structured 4–8 week rolling content and marketing calendar covering social posts, short-form videos, customer newsletters, promotional campaigns, educational content, project showcases, and customer testimonials.
  • Social Media Strategy: Develop and execute an ongoing social media strategy across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube; maintain a consistent publishing schedule; incorporate local service areas and clear calls-to-action.
  • Content Creation: Produce engaging, educational, and customer-focused content including electrical safety tips, before-and-after project showcases, team spotlights, FAQs, and seasonal maintenance advice.
  • Short-Form Video & Reels: Create and edit short-form videos (Reels, Shorts, project walkthroughs, time-lapses) using tools like CapCut or Canva, coordinating with field teams to obtain raw footage and photos.
  • Graphic Design & Marketing Collateral: Design branded visual assets including carousel posts, infographics, quote cards, digital brochures, and sales flyers to maintain a consistent visual identity.
  • Email Marketing & Customer Newsletter: Plan, design, and manage branded email campaigns and a monthly customer newsletter using platforms like Mailchimp or Klaviyo; write engaging copy and optimize layouts for performance.
  • Website & SEO Collaboration: Align social media and email content with website SEO priorities, repurpose blog content, and incorporate relevant location-based keywords to build a connected content ecosystem.
  • Community Management: Monitor comments and direct messages, engage professionally with the audience, and escalate sales or technical enquiries to the appropriate internal team.
  • Performance Tracking & Optimisation: Monitor key metrics (reach, engagement, open rates, CTR, leads generated) and provide monthly summaries to refine future content strategies based on data.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience managing social media for businesses or brands, preferably Australian businesses, trades, or local service-area companies.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute social media content calendars and strategies across Facebook and Instagram, including short-form video.
  • Strong copywriting, storytelling, proofreading, visual design, and brand consistency skills, including creating content from raw field photos/videos.
  • Hands-on experience creating branded email campaigns/newsletters using Mailchimp, Klaviyo, Brevo, Campaign Monitor, or similar platforms.
  • Proficiency with Canva, CapCut, Meta Business Suite, plus familiarity with Meta Ads Manager and scheduling tools such as Buffer, Later, or Hootsuite.
  • Basic knowledge of SEO and WordPress, with familiarity with CRM/marketing automation platforms such as HubSpot, Zoho CRM, or ActiveCampaign.
  • Professional English communication and project management skills, with the ability to work independently, manage multiple campaigns, and use performance data to guide decisions.
