Overview

We are seeking an experienced Structural BIM Modeler with strong Tekla Structures expertise to support a growing residential construction company specializing in one-to-three-story concrete waterfront homes. In this role, you will create accurate 3D structural models that drive BIM-based estimating by generating precise material quantity takeoffs directly from the model. Accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail are essential, as the models will be used for estimating concrete, masonry, and reinforcement materials on high-value residential projects. This is a long-term remote opportunity with the potential to grow alongside an expanding modeling team.

  • Generate material quantity takeoffs directly from the BIM model
  • Produce accurate quantities for: CMU block counts, Rebar quantities, Concrete volumes, Mortar, and Grout/cell fill
  • Review structural drawings and translate them into accurate constructible models
  • Maintain company modeling standards and detailing practices
  • Collaborate with project leadership to incorporate revisions and improve modeling workflows
  • Deliver completed models within established project timelines while maintaining a high level of accuracy

Requirements

  • Proven experience using Tekla Structures is a must
  • Strong experience with CMU and masonry modeling tools (Portfolio required)
  • Solid understanding of residential structural concrete construction
  • Ability to interpret structural engineering drawings and specifications
  • Experience producing material quantity takeoffs from BIM models
  • Strong understanding of rebar detailing and concrete modeling best practices
