Job Overview

Our client is a growing accounting and bookkeeping consulting firm specializing in the restaurant and hospitality industry. They are seeking an experienced Part-Time Bookkeeper to support the financial operations of multiple restaurant and hospitality accounts. This remote role is ideal for a precision-driven accounting professional who has a strong command of QuickBooks Online and can work independently to manage recurring weekly deliverables. You will play a crucial role in helping hospitality businesses stay financially organized, audit-ready, and efficient.

Schedule

  • Flexible schedule, to be completed during standard business hours in Los Angeles, California (Pacific Time / PST) (20 hours per week.)

Responsibilities

  • Multi-Client Reconciliations: Perform regular bank and credit card reconciliations for multiple restaurant and hospitality entities.
  • Accounts Payable & Vendor Auditing: Complete detailed vendor statement reconciliations and maintain accurate accounts payable ledger records.
  • Ledger Administration: Process manual journal entries, review general ledger transactions for categorization errors, and resolve data discrepancies promptly.
  • QuickBooks Maintenance: Service, update, and manage cloud financial records within QuickBooks Online to ensure real-time balance integrity.
  • Data Security & Confidentiality: Handle high-sensitivity financial records, banking credentials, and payroll-related information with absolute discretion.
  • Proactive Communication: Flag outstanding items, missing receipts, or bookkeeping anomalies early to maintain a fluid, weekly reporting cadence.

Requirements

  • Proven Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional, hands-on bookkeeping or accounting experience.
  • Software Mastery: Advanced, day-to-day proficiency with QuickBooks Online (QBO) is strictly required.
  • Autonomy: Demonstrated ability to manage recurring workflows and complete weekly deliverables independently with minimal supervision.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous organizational habits paired with data-checking skills to capture numerical errors.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal English communication skills for effective digital team and client collaboration.
  • Remote Workspace: A highly stable, secure internet connection and a dedicated, professional remote work environment.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

  • Previous bookkeeping or accounting coordination experience specifically within the restaurant, bar, or hospitality industry.
  • Familiarity with restaurant tech stacks, including point-of-sale (POS) systems (e.g., Toast, Clover) or specialized hospitality inventory integrations.
  • Experience working within an accounting agency, CPA firm, or client-accounting services (CAS) environment managing multiple active clients simultaneously.
