Customer Support Intake Specialist
Job Overview
Our client is seeking a professional Customer Support Intake Specialist to manage patient entry and administrative operations for a Virginia-based home health agency. In this hybrid virtual assistant role, you will act as a critical link between acute care facilities, post-acute providers, and clinicians. You will be responsible for ensuring seamless patient onboarding, accurate data entry, and rigorous adherence to healthcare regulations while supporting both skilled and non-skilled home health services.

Monday - Friday, 09:00 AM - 05:00 PM EDT, with 1 hour unpaid break (40 hours per week)
Responsibilities
- Patient Intake: Handle incoming customer calls and patient intake inquiries efficiently.
- Data Management: Enter patient data accurately into the Kinzer (Wellsky) EHR system.
- Clinical Support: Process Oasis data sets and follow up on clinician notes to ensure completion.
- Coordination: Coordinate complex scheduling requirements with clinicians and manage referrals from acute care facilities.
- Financial Operations: Verify insurance coverage (Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance) and manage medical billing processes.
- Compliance: Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and patient privacy standards at all times.
- Technical Tasks: Perform technical tasks required for completing patient prior authorizations.
Requirements
- Healthcare Experience: Proven experience coordinating schedules in a healthcare environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Experience with Kinzer by Wellsky or similar medical EHR systems.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep knowledge of HIPAA privacy and security rules.
- Insurance Expertise: Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance verification processes.
- Administrative Skill: Background in medical billing and coding procedures.
- Communication: Exceptional communication skills and high reachability during business hours.
- Security: Willingness to execute a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) for data security.
