Healthcare Credentialing & Enrollment Coordinator (Ambulatory Surgery Center )

Job Overview

This role is responsible for managing end-to-end medical credentialing, privileging, and compliance for providers and clinical staff at an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC). Our client is looking for a specialist to ensure that all surgeons, anesthesiologists, CRNAs, and staff are properly credentialed, enrolled, and compliant with ASC bylaws, payer requirements, and regulatory standards. Acting as the primary point of contact for credentialing matters, you will support smooth operations by preventing scheduling delays, maintaining survey readiness, and continuously improving credentialing workflows—all while working independently in a fully remote, long-term arrangement.

Schedule

  • Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM PST, with 1 hour unpaid/paid break (40 hours per week)

Responsibilities

  • Provider Credentialing: Manage initial and re-credentialing for surgeons, anesthesiologists, and CRNAs; collect and verify state licenses, DEA certificates, board certifications, and malpractice insurance.
  • Privileging & Medical Staff Files: Prepare and maintain staff files according to ASC bylaws; track specialty privileges and ensure providers are not scheduled until fully privileged.
  • Staff Compliance Tracking: Monitor licensure and certifications for RNs and scrub techs, including BLS/ACLS/PALS, infection control training, and annual health screenings.
  • Regulatory Readiness: Maintain documentation to ensure continuous survey readiness and compliance with ASC policies and Governing Body requirements.
  • Data Reporting: Maintain tracking systems for expiration dates and renewal deadlines; generate status reports for leadership regarding enrollment progress and upcoming expirations.
  • Operational Coordination: Serve as the primary contact for providers and staff to communicate delays and coordinate with scheduling to prevent procedure cancellations.
  • Process Improvement: Develop and maintain credentialing checklists and workflows to assist with the seamless onboarding of new clinical staff.

Requirements

  • Credentialing Expertise: Proven experience in medical credentialing and provider enrollment with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance plans.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with payer portals and credentialing software systems.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of ASC medical staff bylaws and HIPAA regulations.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous ability to manage multiple applications, documentation verifications, and strict deadlines.
  • Communication: Effective written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with Medical Executive Committees and external payers.
  • Self-Management: Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
