Job Overview

Our client is looking for a Technical Building Inspector (Insurance Claims) to support on-site inspectors by transforming inspection findings into high-quality, insurance-ready reports. This is a technical role—not administrative or data entry—requiring someone who can "think like a builder" to interpret photos, videos, and site notes into accurate, defensible assessments. You will be instrumental in driving better claim outcomes and faster decisions for the Australian insurance building industry.

Client Overview

Our client provides expert, evidence-based inspection reports across Australia, specializing in roof inspections, site assessments, leak detection, and insurance scopes of works. They are currently building a technical desktop team to support their field operations with clear, accurate reporting.

Schedule Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with 1 hour unpaid/paid break (40  hours per week)

Responsibilities

  • Data Review: Review site inspection data, including photos, videos, and inspector notes, to interpret findings.
  • Report Preparation: Prepare and refine technical roof reports, site inspection reports, and leak investigation summaries using structured templates.
  • Cause of Damage (COD): Assist in determining the cause of damage based on site evidence.
  • Scope of Works: Develop detailed technical scopes of works (initial stages do not require pricing).
  • Quality Assurance: Edit and QA reports to ensure professional clarity, logical structure, and consistency with company standards.
  • Evidence Management: Correctly label and structure photo evidence to ensure reports are client-ready.
  • System Integration: Assist with finalizing and uploading completed reports to client systems within a 24-hour turnaround.

Requirements

  • Professional Background: Proven experience in building, construction, carpentry, roofing, estimating, or site supervision.
  • Technical Interpretation: Ability to interpret site photos and inspection findings and translate them into written technical scopes or reports.
  • Roofing Knowledge: Strong understanding of various roofing systems.
  • Communication: Excellent written English skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Remote Proficiency: Ability to work independently and follow structured systems in a 100% remote environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of residential construction methods and Australian Standards (Highly Regarded).
  • Prior experience in the insurance building industry.
  • Background in estimating or supervisory roles.
