Sales Development Representative – Fintech Lending
Job Overview
Our client is a high-growth fintech lender revolutionizing access to working capital for Australian SMEs through a fast, technology-first lending platform. By combining automated underwriting, streamlined operations, and data-driven decision-making, they deliver short-term business funding from $5,000 to $100,000 with approvals and funding in as little as two hours.
Following exceptional growth, they are expanding their commercial team and looking for a highly driven Senior Sales Development Specialist to help scale customer acquisition and revenue growth. This role is built for a high-performing sales professional who thrives in outbound fintech sales, high-velocity deal environments, and performance-driven cultures.
You will own the full sales funnel—from prospecting and pipeline generation through funding conversion—working directly with SME owners, brokers, and referral partners. This is not a passive account management role. It is a fintech growth sales role focused on outbound activity, pipeline velocity, conversion performance, and revenue generation.
You’ll also help shape and optimize the sales engine by improving workflows, sales processes, outreach strategies, and operational efficiency as the company continues to scale aggressively.

Key Responsibilities
Outbound Fintech Sales & Pipeline Generation
- Execute high-volume outbound prospecting through cold calls, follow-ups, referrals, and lead generation campaigns
- Identify and engage SME owners requiring fast access to working capital and business funding solutions
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of qualified lending opportunities across multiple acquisition channels
- Develop relationships with brokers and referral partners to drive consistent deal flow
Full-Cycle Revenue Ownership
- Own the end-to-end fintech sales process from initial outreach through settlement and funding
- Conduct discovery conversations to understand business cash flow needs, funding gaps, and commercial objectives
- Position lending solutions consultatively while driving urgency and conversion
- Manage deal progression with speed, accuracy, and strong commercial judgment
High-Velocity Sales Execution
- Thrive in a KPI-driven environment focused on outbound activity, pipeline growth, approvals, funded deals, and revenue generation
- Handle objections confidently and negotiate effectively with business owners and stakeholders
- Maintain strong follow-up discipline to maximize conversion rates and funding outcomes
Fintech Lending & Risk Awareness
- Develop a strong understanding of SME lending, alternative finance products, risk assessment, and portfolio performance
- Collaborate closely with underwriting, operations, and collections teams to support high-quality originations
- Balance revenue generation with long-term portfolio quality and customer outcomes
Sales Operations & Process Optimization
- Maintain accurate CRM data, pipeline reporting, and sales activity tracking
- Contribute to improving sales playbooks, workflows, automation processes, and operational scalability
- Support the development of a high-performance fintech sales culture through accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Requirements
Essential Experience
- Proven experience in fintech, alternative lending, merchant cash advance (MCA), business lending, or financial services sales
- Strong outbound sales and business development experience with high call volumes
- Demonstrated ability to build pipeline, close deals, and consistently hit revenue targets
- Experience managing a full sales cycle in a fast-paced environment
Sales & Commercial Skills
- Strong consultative sales and objection-handling skills
- Confident speaking with business owners, founders, and decision-makers
- Highly commercial mindset with strong revenue and performance orientation
- Ability to create urgency and drive deals through the pipeline efficiently
Technical & Operational Skills
- Experience using CRM platforms, sales engagement tools, and fintech systems
- Strong organizational and pipeline management skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-scaling, technology-driven environment
Highly Preferred
- Experience in SME lending, fintech startups, or high-growth sales environments
- Existing broker network or referral partner experience
- Team leadership, mentoring, or player-coach experience
