Senior Accountant: Corporate Tax & Regulatory Oversight

Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Vancouver), BC Time
Responsibilities
- Perform bank, intercompany, and general ledger reconciliations, ensuring all transactions are accurate and discrepancies are resolved
- Oversee accounts receivable, including monitoring outstanding balances, performing past-due follow-ups, and coordinating with invoicing teams
- Manage the end-to-end accounts payable process for approximately 50 monthly transactions, ensuring accurate vendor invoice recording and documentation
- Maintain and update accounting schedules for fixed assets, prepaid expenses (amortization), and accrued liabilities
- Prepare and file sales tax (GST) returns, calculate employer health tax, and assist with monthly corporate tax installments
- Support and manage various regulatory filings to ensure the business remains in full financial compliance
- Prepare comprehensive monthly financial reports and assist in the preparation and presentation of financial statements to leadership
- Act as a direct resource for the CFO, responding to ad hoc financial/analytical requests and supporting special projects or audits
- Ensure the overall accuracy and completeness of all financial records through proactive review and detailed analytical thinking
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Strong understanding of core accounting principles and practices
- Proven experience in a full-cycle accounting or senior accounting role
- Experience with reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting
- Familiarity with tax filings (GST, corporate tax, employer taxes)
- Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with multi-entity or intercompany accounting
- Exposure to CFO-level reporting and financial presentations
- Experience with accounting software and ERP systems
- Prior experience in a recruitment, service-based, or tech industry
