Job Description:
You’ll serve as the critical bridge between clients and tax preparation services, ensuring quality and accuracy while maintaining strong client relationships. This role puts you at the center of tax operations for a growing firm, where your expertise directly impacts client satisfaction and business success. You’ll have the opportunity to shape tax processes and contribute to building a world-class remote tax team.
Client Overview:
A well-established CPA firm specializing in monthly bookkeeping services and handling approximately 300 tax returns annually. The firm operates a strategic hybrid model, combining in-house expertise with outsourced services to deliver comprehensive tax solutions. They’re actively expanding their remote team and building long-term partnerships with skilled tax professionals in the Philippines.
Schedule:
- 9 am to 1 pm CST (5 hours overlap) from Monday to Friday. The remaining 3 hours per day can work flexibly.

Responsibilities:
- Review and quality-check tax returns prepared by outsourced tax preparation companies
- Communicate directly with clients regarding tax matters, questions, and updates
- Serve as primary liaison between clients and external tax preparation services
- Ensure accuracy and compliance of all tax work before client delivery
- Manage client relationships and provide expert tax guidance and support
- Coordinate workflow between internal team and outsourced partners
- Maintain detailed documentation of client communications and tax decisions
- Support the development and training of additional team members as the department grows
Requirements:
- CPA certification required
- Minimum 5 years of experience working for CPA firms
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on US tax preparation and review experience
- Strong proficiency with QuickBooks for accounting functions
- Experience with ProConnect tax software (or ability to learn quickly)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client interaction
- Bonus if you have experience managing outsourced relationships
- It helps if you have experience training or mentoring junior tax staff

- This is a permanent work-from-home role under an Independent Contractor arrangement. Candidates must have their own computer and reliable internet connection, and are responsible for their own taxes and benefits.
