About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior QA Engineer to join our development team and take
ownership of quality assurance across our property management platform. You will be
responsible for ensuring our software meets the highest standards of quality, reliability, and user experience. This role combines hands-on testing with strategic thinking about quality processes, test automation, and continuous improvement.

• 9AM - 6PM UK Time, Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute comprehensive test strategies for new features and existing functionality
• Develop and maintain automated test suites for API endpoints, including our Open API platform
• Perform thorough testing of complex integrations with property portals (Rightmove, Zoopla, OnTheMarket) and external services
• Conduct end-to-end testing of sales and lettings workflows within the CRM
• Validate webhook implementations, JWT authentication, and rate limiting functionality
• Write and execute SQL queries to verify data integrity and validate backend processes
• Monitor and triage production issues using error tracking tools such as Sentry and PostHog
• Collaborate closely with developers to identify root causes and ensure timely resolution of defects
• Create and maintain detailed test documentation, test cases, and regression test suites
• Contribute to improving QA processes, tools, and best practices across the team

Essential Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in software quality assurance or test engineering
• Strong experience testing web applications and RESTful APIs
• Proficiency in test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar)
• Experience with API testing tools (Postman, REST Assured, or equivalent)
• Solid understanding of SQL and ability to write queries for data validation
• Experience testing complex business workflows and multi-system integrations
• Knowledge of software development lifecycles and agile methodologies
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
• Clear communication skills with the ability to articulate technical issues to diverse audiences

Desirable Skills

• Experience with C# or .NET for writing automated tests
• Familiarity with Azure cloud services and DevOps pipelines
• Knowledge of property industry or estate agency operations
• Experience testing webhook and event-driven systems
• Understanding of authentication mechanisms (JWT, OAuth)
• Experience with performance and load testing tools
• Familiarity with Angular or front-end testing approaches
• ISTQB certification or equivalent

• This is a permanent work-from-home role under an Independent Contractor arrangement.
