QuickBooks Bookkeeper

Schedule

Part-time (15 hours per week), flexible within client business hours
Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM


Job Overview

You’ll play a key role in maintaining accurate and reliable financial records for a small but growing accounting practice. This role is ideal for an experienced bookkeeper who enjoys working with clean, well-organized books and values quality over volume.

You’ll work directly with the practice owner to support multiple client accounts, focusing on transaction accuracy, reconciliations, and financial review. The workload is manageable, expectations are clear, and there is flexibility with the opportunity to grow alongside the business.


Key Responsibilities

  • Categorize transactions accurately in QuickBooks for multiple clients

  • Reconcile asset and liability accounts, including bank and credit card accounts

  • Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations

  • Review Profit & Loss reports and identify any issues or discrepancies that need to be discussed with clients

  • Review and analyze financial reports for accuracy and completeness

  • Reconcile payroll reports from third-party providers (e.g., Gusto, ADP)

  • Handle minimal accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions

  • Maintain organized, up-to-date financial records across the client portfolio

  • Communicate proactively with the practice owner regarding questions, inconsistencies, or missing information

  • Ask for clarification or guidance when needed to ensure accuracy and timely completion

  • Ensure all bookkeeping follows proper accounting principles and standards


Requirements

  • Proven, hands-on experience with QuickBooks (essential)

  • Strong accounting background and solid understanding of bookkeeping principles

  • Experience reconciling bank, credit card, asset, and liability accounts

  • Ability to review financial statements and flag issues in a timely manner

  • Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision

  • Proactive communicator who is confident asking questions when clarification is needed

  • Professional communication skills for client-related work

  • Reliable internet connection and professional remote work setup

  • Bonus: Experience reconciling payroll from third-party systems

  • Bonus: Experience working with small accounting practices or managing multiple clients
