Social Media Specialist
SOCIAL MEDIA SPECIALIST (20 hrs/week)
Schedule: Mondays to Fridays, 4 hours per day (Flexible within client business hours, Queensland, Australia)
Role Overview
The Social Media Specialist is responsible for creating engaging, on-brand content across multiple social media platforms and executing strategies to grow and maintain the company’s online presence. This role involves content creation, community engagement, analytics tracking, and collaboration with internal teams to support marketing initiatives and event engagement.
Key Responsibilities

Create engaging and on-brand social media content across all brands.

Develop and edit short-form videos for Reels, TikTok, and other social media platforms.

Plan and execute a consistent social and email engagement program.

Create a content calendar and schedule posts across social media accounts.

Manage the company’s Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn profiles.

Lead community engagement by responding to follower messages, comments, and interactions.

Proactively reach out to influencers or related companies to increase social engagement.

Provide recommendations on social media strategies and regularly report on engagement growth.

Brainstorm creative strategies to expand social audiences.

Assist with trade show event coordination and engagement strategies.

Track and report results of socially-driven campaigns.
Requirements

Portfolio demonstrating previous social media content creation.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Minimum of 2 years of experience creating content and managing social media accounts.

Proficient in MS Office, Windows, and Google tools.

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Design, or a related creative field.

3–5 years of experience managing and growing professional social media accounts.
Highly Regarded Skills & Experience

Previous experience or interest in the relevant industry.

Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop.

Ability to create engaging content tailored for various social media platforms.

Experience with social media advertising.

Skilled in using social media management tools such as Hootsuite or Buffer.

Experience managing social media for consumer and tech brands.
