Job Description
You’ll be the financial backbone of a thriving custom manufacturing business, ensuring smooth operations that allow skilled craftsmen to focus on creating beautiful, lasting work. This role offers the perfect opportunity to take ownership of essential business processes while working directly with leadership in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment. You’ll manage the complete financial workflow from job costing to payroll, with clear potential for expansion as the business grows.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain QuickBooks Online accounting system with streamlined vendor management and client invoicing
  • Process weekly payroll through Gusto for a small, dedicated team of craftsmen
  • Update and maintain custom job costing database tracking materials, labor, and project profitability
  • Ensure consistent, timely completion of all bookkeeping tasks on a reliable weekly schedule
  • Handle general administrative duties supporting day-to-day business operations
  • Collaborate directly with business owner on financial processes and reporting
  • Support potential expansion into additional business entities as the role grows

Requirements

  • Experience with QuickBooks Online for accounting and financial management
  • Familiarity with payroll systems (Gusto experience is a strong bonus)
  • Strong attention to detail and proven consistency in work habits
  • Comfortable working with databases and performing accurate data entry
  • Reliable internet connection and computer setup for remote work
  • Availability for minimum 20 hours per week with flexible scheduling
  • Bonus if you have experience in manufacturing, construction, or project-based businesses
  • It helps if you’re comfortable with direct communication via email, phone, or video calls
