Bookkeeper – Legal & Immigration Practice Support

You’ll dive into multi-state tax compliance, partner closely with a CPA during tax preparation, and work with tools like Serenade, Clio, QuickBooks, and Gusto to keep financial operations running seamlessly.

Job Highlights:

  • Contract type: Independent Contractor
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 1pm to 5pm Eastern

 

Responsibilities:

  • Handle day-to-day bookkeeping and financial transaction recording
  • Manage invoicing processes and expense tracking
  • Generate basic financial reports including P&L statements and spending breakdowns
  • Create year-over-year financial analysis and trend reports to inform business decisions
  • Research and ensure compliance with state income tax requirements across multiple states
  • Maintain financial records and support the CPA with tax preparation
  • Work with Serenade (immigration-specific), Clio, QuickBooks, and Gusto

 

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in bookkeeping and financial record management
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks and ability to learn specialized software platforms
  • Understanding of multi-state tax compliance requirements
  • Experience working with US companies and understanding of US business practices
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate financial records
  • Excellent communication skills for reporting and collaboration
