Job Description

This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced bookkeeper to play a pivotal role in supporting a growing Canadian accounting practice. You’ll be at the heart of the firm’s operations, transforming raw financial data into organized, actionable information that directly impacts client success. The position offers the perfect blend of technical expertise and meaningful client impact, with 90% of your time focused on Excel-based compilation work that requires both analytical skills and attention to detail. Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed financial compilations using Excel as your primary tool (90% of role)
  • Process and expertly categorize transactions from bank statements and credit card statements
  • Input and organize financial data in QuickBooks with precision and accuracy
  • Maintain systematic organization of financial records for multiple client accounts
  • Record all financial transactions and complete comprehensive posting processes
  • Generate, send, and track invoices while maintaining client relationships
  • Reconcile financial discrepancies and ensure data integrity across all accounts
  • Process accounts receivable and payable with attention to deadlines and accuracy
  • Provide valuable assistance with payroll processing and related tasks
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements that meet professional standards
  • Collaborate effectively with the accounting team on complex client matters
  • Stay current with Canadian financial policies, regulations, and best practices

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on bookkeeping experience within Canada
  • Proven track record of bookkeeping for multiple companies and diverse client bases
  • Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks software with demonstrated expertise
  • Exceptional Excel skills specifically for compilation work and data analysis
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Canadian accounting practices and regulatory requirements
  • Outstanding attention to detail for accurate transaction categorization and data entry
