Medical Insurance Biller (Chiropractic Office)
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Insurance Biller to handle the core billing and insurance processes for our chiropractic offices. You do not need chiropractic expertise — just strong general medical billing, claims, EOB posting, and insurance verification experience.
We will train you on our office’s specific workflows, codes, and systems.
Responsibilities
Insurance Verification
- Complete insurance benefit checks using our standard verification script.
- Confirm deductible, copay, coinsurance, visit limits, and exclusions.
- Document verified benefits into our system for front desk use.
- Communicate clearly when coverage is limited, expired, or unclear.
Claims Billing & Processing
- Enter charges in the EHR accurately.
- Submit electronic claims to insurance payers through our clearinghouse.
- Monitor claim status and follow up on rejections or denials.
- Correct and resubmit claims with missing info or coding errors.
EOB / ERA Posting
- Post insurance payments, adjustments, and patient balances.
- Reconcile posted amounts with EOBs/ERAs.
- Flag underpayments or unusual adjustments for review.
- Keep accounts organized and up-to-date.
Patient & Insurance Communication
- Answer basic billing questions from patients or office staff.
- Communicate with insurance companies regarding claim status or corrections.
- Keep the team informed of coverage issues or financial concerns.
Account Maintenance & Reporting
- Maintain clean accounts with accurate balances.
- Track outstanding claims and follow up with payers as needed.
- Assist with simple AR reporting and monthly reconciliation tasks.
Optional (Helpful but Not Required)
- Familiarity with CPT & ICD-10 codes
- Experience with chiropractic, physical therapy, or similar outpatient care
- Basic understanding of personal injury billing
(We will provide training for our office’s specific processes.)
Requirements
Required
- Experience in medical insurance billing (any specialty is fine).
- Ability to post EOBs/ERAs accurately.
- Strong understanding of deductibles, copays, coinsurance, and visit limits.
- Good communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet weekly/monthly deadlines.
Preferred but Not Required
- Experience with JaneApp or similar EHR systems.
- Familiarity with chiropractic or therapy services (not required).
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus (not required)
