Job Description
You’ll play a crucial role in ensuring patients can easily access healthcare services during the clinic’s busiest periods. This position offers the perfect opportunity to make a direct impact on patient care while working with modern booking systems and having the flexibility to grow into additional responsibilities like patient communications and basic marketing support as the clinic continues to develop.
Responsibilities
- Answer incoming patient calls during high-volume periods, primarily Mondays and Fridays
- Schedule patient appointments using the clinic’s integrated booking software system
- Handle appointment modifications including rescheduling and cancellations efficiently
- Provide accurate information to callers by referencing the clinic’s comprehensive website
- Support patients calling from Google advertising who prefer phone booking over online systems
- Create and distribute patient newsletters to enhance ongoing patient engagement
- Manage basic social media interactions including responding to direct messages
- Assist with patient follow-up communications and marketing initiatives
Requirements
- 3+ years of medical receptionist experience, preferably in UK or US healthcare settings
- Strong phone communication skills with a patient-focused approach
- Experience with appointment booking systems and medical office software
- Ability to navigate websites quickly and provide accurate information to callers
- Basic computer skills for email management and potential social media tasks
- Bonus if you have experience with patient communications or healthcare marketing
- It helps if you’re familiar with Northern Ireland’s healthcare preferences and cultural nuances
