Position Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Full-Time Medical Biller to join our remote team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the accurate and timely submission, follow-up, and resolution of all insurance claims to maximize reimbursement.

Priority will be given to candidates with deep expertise in electronic claim submission and management, particularly using the Stedi clearinghouse platform.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Claim Management: Prepare, audit, and submit a high volume of complex electronic and paper claims (CMS-1500) to various payers (commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, etc.).

• Clearinghouse Expertise: Utilize the Stedi clearinghouse platform for daily claim submission, monitoring claim status, managing acceptance/rejection reports, and resolving submission errors.

• A/R Follow-up & Denials: Actively work accounts receivable (A/R) reports, follow up on unpaid claims, and investigate and resolve claim denials and rejections in a timely manner.

• Payment Posting: Review and accurately post Electronic Remittance Advices (ERAs) and manual payments to patient accounts.

• Verification: Conduct insurance eligibility and benefits verification as needed to ensure proper billing at the time of service.

• Compliance: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical coding (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS) and payer-specific billing requirements, ensuring all procedures comply with HIPAA regulations.

• Communication: Communicate professionally with insurance carriers, providers, and patients to resolve billing discrepancies and inquiries.

 

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of recent, dedicated experience in Medical Billing or Revenue Cycle Management.

• Clearinghouse Proficiency (Crucial): Proven, hands-on working experience with the Stedi clearinghouse platform is highly preferred.

• Time Zone/Availability: Must be available to work consistent full-time hours aligned with the Pacific Time Zone (PST) to facilitate real-time communication with clients and payers.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in medical billing software (EHR/PM systems) and strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel).

• Knowledge: Solid understanding of the entire revenue cycle, claim processing, denial management, and appeal processes.

• Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and excellent written and verbal communication.
