This specialized wholesale business has successfully pivoted from importing to full in-house production, positioning them for continued growth. You’ll work directly with the business owner in a collaborative, small-team environment where your contributions make a real impact.

Job Overview: You’ll become the financial backbone of a growing wholesale nursery operation, taking ownership of critical bookkeeping functions that keep this established business running smoothly. This role offers the perfect blend of core accounting responsibilities with the opportunity to grow alongside a business that’s successfully navigated challenges and emerged stronger. You’ll work directly with the business partner, ensuring accurate financial records while supporting a team of six production specialists.

Responsibilities:

• Process payroll for a 6-person production team with accuracy and timeliness
• Maintain comprehensive bookkeeping records and financial ledgers in Xero
• Handle invoicing processes and manage accounts receivable workflows
• Process accounts payable and coordinate vendor payments
• Manually integrate Shopify e-commerce orders into Xero accounting system
• Reconcile bank statements and maintain accurate financial records
• Support month-end closing processes and financial reporting
• Manage invoice processing and payment tracking systems

Requirements:

• Proven proficiency in Xero accounting software (primary system used)
• Solid experience with payroll processing and compliance
• Strong bookkeeping fundamentals and attention to detail
• Experience with e-commerce platforms (Shopify knowledge is a bonus)
• Ability to work during Australian business hours
  
• Excellent communication skills for remote collaboration
• It helps if you have experience in wholesale or production environments
