About the Role
Our client is an automated business valuation platform serving Australian clients. The Senior Business Valuer is their client-facing authority. You take the completed valuation output from the platform and the Valuation Specialist, get across the file quickly, and lead a concise client conversation, typically 30 minutes, that builds confidence in the result, handles pushback professionally, and where warranted, negotiates minor adjustments within defensible parameters.

This is not a production role. The platform and the junior team do the groundwork. Your job is to bring gravitas, business acumen, and the interpersonal skill to navigate what can be emotionally charged conversations around business worth.

Key Responsibilities

• Review completed valuation outputs and supporting briefs ahead of each client call (typically a 15-minute pre-read)
• Lead client-facing video calls of approximately 30 minutes, at a volume of up to 25–30 calls per week at scale
• Manage client expectations around valuation methodology, defend the result clearly, and negotiate adjustments where the client provides additional substantiating information
• Act as the final sign-off voice for client queries that cannot be resolved by written correspondence alone
• Support onboarding and process development during the ramp-up phase, including contributing to internal protocols and call frameworks
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through clear, assured communication

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Chartered Accountant, qualified under Australian standards. This is non-negotiable, as the role requires the ability to speak with technical authority on Australian tax and valuation frameworks
• Minimum 10 years of business valuation experience; a background as a business owner or in corporate advisory is highly regarded
• Prior experience as a practising valuer
• Experience across jurisdictions is acceptable; Australian accreditation is the requirement
• Exceptional spoken and written English. Native or near-native fluency is essential given the nature of client conversations

What We Are Looking For

• Senior presence and the ability to inspire immediate confidence in a client within the first few minutes of a call
• Comfort sitting with the tension that business valuation is part science, part art, and skill in explaining that to a client who may disagree with a result
• The ability to get up to speed on a client file quickly and sound entirely across it on a call
• Ideal profile: an Australian-qualified professional currently based outside Australia (Australian expats or those with significant Australian professional experience are strongly encouraged to apply)
• A natural relationship-builder who can hold a senior conversation without a rigid script

Time Zone
The role requires reliable availability across Australian business hours, with flexibility toward evening calls (AEST). Asian time zones with strong evening overlap are well suited.

Selection Process
Shortlisted candidates will be assessed through multiple video interviews with the Director. A voice sample is required early in the process. A more complex case study will be assigned, with discussion of the approach forming part of the interview.
