We are looking for a Business Valuation Specialist to support the delivery of accurate, well-reasoned business valuations for Australian clients.
Our client operates an automated business valuation platform that combines technology with professional financial analysis. In this role, you will review system-generated valuation outputs against client-submitted financial information, identify inconsistencies, apply the appropriate valuation methodology, and ensure each valuation is accurate, well-supported, and ready for client delivery.
This is an excellent opportunity for a CA/CPA-qualified finance professional with valuation, transaction advisory, corporate finance, or related experience who enjoys analytical work, working with financial statements, and applying professional judgement within a structured framework.
The role combines financial analysis, valuation, quality control, and client communication.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Financial Analysis & Valuation
- Review client financial information, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and supporting documentation.
- Review and validate automated valuation outputs against the underlying financial information.
- Identify inconsistencies, unusual items, or missing information that may affect the valuation.
- Apply the appropriate valuation methodology and make reasoned adjustments within established guidelines.
- Assess whether the financial information provided supports the valuation outcome.
- Identify cases that require additional review or escalation.
Quality & Risk Review
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and consistency across valuation files.
- Apply established valuation frameworks and quality-control procedures.
- Document key assumptions, adjustments, and findings clearly.
- Escalate complex or unusual cases to the Senior Valuer with a concise summary of the key issues and recommended considerations.
- Maintain turnaround and quality standards across a high-volume workflow.
Client Communication
- Communicate with clients primarily through email to clarify financial information or request additional documentation.
- Prepare clear, professional, and concise client communications.
- Explain information requirements in a way that is easy for clients to understand.
- Follow up on outstanding information required to complete valuations.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify recurring issues, data-quality problems, and opportunities to improve the valuation workflow.
- Provide feedback on processes and system-generated outputs.
- Contribute to improving the accuracy, efficiency, and consistency of the valuation process.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a finance professional who combines technical capability with sound judgement and strong attention to detail.
Required
- CA or CPA qualification, with Australian qualification/accreditation or eligibility to work within the applicable Australian professional framework.
- 2–3+ years of relevant professional experience in one or more of the following:
- Business Valuation
- Valuation Advisory
- Transaction Advisory
- Corporate Finance
- Financial Due Diligence
- M&A Advisory
- Related financial analysis roles
- Strong understanding of financial statements and financial analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written English and professional email communication.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work independently within established processes and deadlines.
- Ability to exercise professional judgement while following a structured methodology.
VALUATION EXPERIENCE
Direct business valuation experience is highly preferred. However, candidates from Transaction Advisory, Corporate Finance, Financial Due Diligence, M&A, or similar analytical finance environments will also be considered where they can demonstrate strong financial analysis and relevant valuation exposure.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
You are someone who:
- Enjoys working with financial statements and detailed financial information.
- Can identify when numbers do not tell the complete story.
- Understands that valuation requires both methodology and professional judgement.
- Is comfortable working with technology and automated outputs.
- Can distinguish between a straightforward case and one that requires escalation.
- Is highly organized and comfortable managing multiple cases.
- Writes clearly and professionally.
- Can explain financial information to clients without unnecessary complexity.
- Takes ownership of accuracy and quality.
- Is comfortable working within a structured process while knowing when professional judgement is required.
WHY THIS ROLE IS DIFFERENT
This is not simply a financial data-entry or accounting position.
You will sit at the intersection of finance, valuation, technology, and client delivery, using automated valuation technology while applying your professional expertise to validate results and identify where human judgement is required.
You will have the opportunity to work with Australian businesses and contribute directly to the quality and credibility of their valuation outcomes.
SELECTION PROCESS
Shortlisted candidates will complete a practical assessment based on a sample client submission.
The assessment will evaluate:
- Financial analysis
