Web Developer - E-Commerce & Systems Integration

Job Overview:

We are seeking an exceptionally qualified full-stack Web Developer — E-Commerce & Systems Integration to take full ownership of building, launching, and scaling our custom e-commerce web platform. In this high-impact, standalone role, you will build a complex multi-location inventory data pipeline, design a high-converting storefront with advanced vehicle-fitment search capabilities, and drive Google Shopping integrations. You will be our primary developer—owning the system end-to-end from initial construction through long-term feature expansion and operational management.

Schedule: Remote Full Time | Monday to Friday; 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM EST.

Responsibilities:

Initial Build & Platform Launch:

  • Multi-Site Data Pipeline: Design and construct a robust system that pulls, syncs, and merges real-time inventory from four separate on-site Checkmate servers into a single unified catalog.
  • E-Commerce Storefront Development: Architect and build a fast, scalable storefront using Shopify, WooCommerce, or a custom stack, guiding platform selection based on technical requirements.
  • Advanced Fitment Search Logic: Implement complex vehicle interchange logic using industry databases, ensuring customers searching for specific year/make/model parameters accurately find compatible parts.
  • Google Merchant Center Integration: Configure and automate large-scale product feeds for tens of thousands of parts to launch and maintain active Google Shopping listings.
  • Leverage AI for Efficiency: Utilize modern AI tools, coding assistants, and automated workflows to accelerate development timelines and launch the platform rapidly.

Post-Launch Maintenance & Scaling:

  • System Integrity & Health: Continuously monitor and optimize automated data syncs across all yard locations, resolving API, feed, or database disruptions quickly.
  • Performance & SEO Optimization: Continuously improve site speed, search filtering, and large-scale template-driven SEO coverage across thousands of dynamic part and vehicle pages.
  • Feature Expansion: Build key operational tools and customer features, including saved searches, enhanced photo galleries, real-time shipping quote calculators, and counter-staff sales interfaces.
  • Data & Feed Management: Monitor and fix Google Merchant Center compliance issues, maintaining accurate fitment details and stock availability as inventory turns over daily.

Requirements:

Technical Skills & Experience:

  • Proven full-stack web development experience shipping, maintaining, and scaling production web applications independently.
  • Strong proficiency in relational database management, with the ability to write efficient queries against large, complex tables.
  • Demonstrated experience integrating third-party APIs, webhooks, or legacy data feeds and managing non-standard data pipelines.
  • Proven e-commerce background (Shopify, WooCommerce, or custom e-commerce builds; APPLICATIONS WITH PORTFOLOS WILL BE PRIORITIZED)
  • Deep familiarity and advanced proficiency with modern AI development tools and workflows to accelerate build phases.
  • Helpful but not required: Hands-on experience with Google Merchant Center feeds, large-scale SEO architectures, or legacy inventory database systems.

Key Personal Attributes & Work Requirements:

  • US Time Zone Alignment: Proven ability and willingness to work during standard U.S. business hours.
  • Fast & Adaptive Learner: Highly capable of rapidly mastering new domains, software, tools, and technical specifications independently.
  • Independent Problem Solver: Comfortable working as the sole developer—able to make sound architectural decisions, communicate trade-offs, and challenge bad ideas constructively.
  • Integrity & Reliability: Highly trustworthy, dedicated, and focused, demonstrating uncompromised professional integrity in handling client databases and proprietary code bases.
  • Long-Term Commitment: Seeking a stable, long-term position to own, maintain, and continuously grow a primary enterprise platform.

Independent Contractor Perks:

  • Health Insurance
  • Immediate hiring
  • Permanent work from home
