Job Overview:

Our client is seeking a dedicated Taxi Dispatcher to serve as the central communications hub for a UK-based taxi operation during overnight hours. In this role, you will take incoming customer calls, process ride requests, and allocate jobs to drivers in real time using their dispatch system. This is a critical role that keeps their service running smoothly through the night, ensuring customers get where they need to go and drivers receive clear, timely job assignments.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 11:00 PM to 8:00 AM UK Time; Full-time role

Responsibilities:

• Answer incoming customer phone calls during overnight hours.
• Receive and process ride requests accurately and efficiently.
• Allocate taxi jobs to available drivers using the company's dispatch system.
• Maintain clear communication with both customers and drivers throughout each shift.
• Manage job flow to ensure timely service and driver availability.
• Operate internet-based phone systems to handle inbound and outbound calls.
• Provide consistent coverage Monday through Friday during assigned overnight hours.
• Ensure smooth coordination between customer needs and driver assignments.

Requirements:

• Experience using dispatch systems or similar job allocation platforms.
• Strong phone communication skills with clear, understandable speech.
• Ability to work overnight hours Monday through Friday (11:00 PM - 8:00 AM UK time).
• Comfortable managing multiple incoming calls and prioritizing requests.
• Reliable internet connection and appropriate hardware for remote work.
• Ability to make quick decisions under time pressure.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in taxi dispatch or transportation coordination.
• Familiarity with UK geography or the ability to quickly learn location names.
• Previous experience with call center or customer service operations.
