DATA ANALYST & AUTOMATION SPECIALIST

The Data Analyst & Automation Specialist bridges the gap between report creation, process automation, and data governance. In addition to designing and building end-to-end Power BI dashboards, this role serves as the team's Data Quality & Automation specialist, responsible for auditing, cross-validating, and testing reports built by other team analysts against CRM and source systems, while designing automated scripts and tools to streamline the analytics workflow.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Dashboard Development

  • Design, build, and maintain high-impact Power BI dashboards and interactive reports from scratch (including data loading, modeling, DAX measures, and UX layout design).
  • Ensure internal report design standards, performance optimization, and data security policies are maintained across own builds.

Data Quality & Audit

  • Audit and validate Power BI reports developed across the team to guarantee 100% data accuracy against primary source systems.
  • Write complex SQL validation queries and Python testing scripts to detect metric discrepancies, data anomalies, or logic errors.
  • Establish standardized QA checklists, automated data testing gates, and verification pipelines for all incoming and existing reports.

Automation & Tooling

  • Continuously evaluate analytics operations to identify manual, repetitive tasks and re-engineer them into automated workflows.
  • Build automated scripts using Python and Node.js to streamline data extraction, transformation, testing, and report refresh pipelines.
  • Develop internal utility tools and lightweight automation frameworks to accelerate report building, data validation, and overall business workflow/process.

Collaboration & Documentation

  • Serve as the technical mentor for data quality, automated testing, and backend scripting across the analytics unit.
  • Collaborate closely with team members to review data models, optimize complex DAX/SQL queries, and troubleshoot data discrepancies.
  • Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for automated workflows, QA test suites, and data validation rules.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Analytics QA & testing skills: automated data validation, pipeline testing, regression testing, ETL schema auditing.
  • Business Intelligence: Power BI (data modeling, DAX, Power Query, dashboard design).
  • Programming & scripting: SQL (advanced data extraction/validation), Python, JavaScript/Node.js.
  • Automation & tools: CI/CD test pipelines, API testing, task orchestration, Git/GitLab.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
