Job Overview

Our client is looking for a highly skilled Senior Full-Stack Developer with strong expertise in the MERN Stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, and Node.js) to join a growing development team.

You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of web applications, from developing responsive front-end experiences to building secure, scalable back-end systems. The ideal candidate is an experienced developer who writes clean, maintainable code, takes ownership of their work, and enjoys solving complex technical problems.

Schedule

• Monday - Friday, flexible between 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM WA, Australia (40 work hours per week)

Responsibilities

Front-End Development

• Design and develop responsive, high-performance web applications using React.js.
• Translate UI/UX designs and wireframes into clean, pixel-perfect code.
• Build reusable and maintainable React components.
• Implement client-side routing, authentication, and data-fetching strategies.
• Optimize applications for performance across browsers and devices.

Back-End Development

• Build and maintain secure, scalable applications using Node.js and Express.js.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs.
• Develop efficient data models and queries using MongoDB.
• Work with MongoDB aggregation pipelines and indexing to optimize performance.
• Implement authentication and authorization using technologies such as JWT and OAuth.
• Apply security best practices, including data validation, sanitization, and protection against common web vulnerabilities.

Full-Stack Development & Integration

• Integrate front-end applications with back-end services and APIs.
• Troubleshoot, debug, maintain, and enhance existing applications.
• Write clean, reusable, testable, and efficient code.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to development best practices.
• Collaborate with designers, product stakeholders, and other developers to plan and deliver new features.
• Ensure applications remain responsive, reliable, and scalable.

DevOps & Version Control

• Use Git for source control and collaborate through platforms such as GitHub or GitLab.
• Participate in CI/CD workflows and deployment processes.
• Work with modern development and build tools such as Vite, Webpack, or Babel.
• Contribute to application testing using tools such as Jest, Mocha, or Cypress.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional full-stack web development experience, with strong hands-on expertise in the MERN Stack.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/ES6+, React.js, Node.js, and Express.js, including React Hooks, component architecture, state management, asynchronous programming, and Node.js architecture.
• Strong knowledge of MongoDB, including schema design, queries, aggregation, indexing, and performance optimization.
• Strong experience building RESTful APIs and middleware, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and develop secure, reliable solutions.
• Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows. 
• Takes ownership, works independently, and is detail-oriented, quality-focused, and proactive in solving technical problems and improving systems.
• Communicates technical concepts clearly and collaborates effectively with distributed, cross-functional teams while writing clean, scalable, and maintainable code.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Nice to have:  Experience with Next.js, Jest/Mocha/Cypress, CI/CD pipelines, deployment workflows, cloud platforms, and Agile development.
